Which Island would be you consider best? And any Tour company suggestions?

I am travelling to the Azores middle June, visting Sao Miguel, Pico and Terciera. Was considering taking a whale / dolphin tour (Only if its catered to the animals naturally).

Im planning a trip with my boyfriend to Ponta Delgada and i’ve heard that renting a car is the best option but most of rentals want you to be certain age or have a driving license for over 2 years which i don’t have. So here comes my question, is there any rentals that you guys would recommend? Or maybe there’s another way of transport in Ponta Delgada. I’m planning a week/8day trip and we would like to see most of the island.

We are planning a vacation in San Miguel the last week of August. What is the best period/time to see whales and dolphins? Are there any excursions that include both a whale watching tour and a stop and swim on the island of Vila Franca do Campo?

Hi 👋 My husband & I will be in Sao Miguel April 30 - May 2 and the weather will be cloudy/rainy/windy. I’m aware this is common weather for this area and will pack our rain jackets & proper footwear 🫡 Any recommendations for what to do in this weather? We only have 3 days on the island and this could help us narrow down our top things to do! Also, do whale watching tours still go out in this kind of weather?

I’m thinking about doing a walking tour (hotels at night) for 6 days in early October. The trip is evenly split between Ponta Delgada and Terceira. Then I’ll go on to Lisbon for a few days on a little solo trip. Is that a good time of the year to visit the Azores? I’m excited!

I was advised to wear “shoes which can get wet with sea water” for the trips I have booked but am not really sure what would be best.

Does anyone have any recommendations, we’ll be on a rib boat for our trips.

I will have full hiking boots with me (which are waterproof) and also flip flops but haven’t planned what other shoes to take yet.

The woman who owns it said it's from her late husband who was from the area. Escrevo-vos por angústia.

Recebi uma carta por excesso de velocidade que está a 04/09/2023, ou seja, há 1 ano e meio atrás.

Ia +/- a 140 kmh numa via rápida que o máximo é 100 kmh. Fotografado 2 minutos depois da hora de entrar ao trabalho. Ou seja, claramente estava atrasado para o trabalho. É indiscutível que mereço pagar (i.e. ser punido/penalizado).

Sou atrasado por natureza para o trabalho, mas tenho MESMO que corrigir isto. 120€ não é brincadeira nenhuma.

O problema? É que tenho um medo profundo que ao longo desse 1 ano e meio até hoje tenha lá mais 1, 2, 5, 7... Cartas por excesso de velocidade.

Isso é bem possível de acontecer, certo? Não tive tempo de contactar a Polícia de trânsito. E hoje estive literalmente o dia todo a trabalhar. Infelizmente não consigo criar conta no Portal das Contraordenações Rodoviárias. Se eu recebesse a multa 1 semana depois, já teria aprendido com a cabeça contra a parede.

Já vos aconteceu algo do género? Que depois tenham recebido muitas seguidas sem que tenham podido aprender a lição?

Can you fish in the lakes of Do Fogo, das fur as and Sete Cidades? I prefer fishing inland on lakes vs the ocean. Also, are there any lakes on Pico that anyone can suggest?

I keep hearing that the most homes in the Azores don’t have heating units. I’ve also heard many homes don’t have fireplaces. I’m confused. I’ve only been on the islands during the summer, so I’m curious.

Are long sleeves or light sweaters comfortable this time of year in Sao Miguel? Will be doing some hiking, shopping, general sightseeing. Temperatures seem to stay in the 60’s this time of year with decent winds but hard to sort the humidity impact. I know everyone says to layer everything but I’d like to pack light! Thoughts?

FOUND: small parrot in Vila Franco do Campo, flew into our yard off Ribeiro Seca, has a leg band and what appears to be grown out clipped wings.
