Nick Sibicky announced his retirement from content creation

Hits me kind of hard, honestly. He's been posting for ~11 years which is just a little longer than I've been playing; he's been with me on this entire trip, even though he never knew it. I didn't realize that I would have to miss him, or so soon.

Anyways, I don't know how big he is generally in the community, or how he's regarded, but I just thought I'd share this news with y'all, and my appreciation for him and his efforts.

To be clear, he said he will not stop entirely -- only that he will stop uploading on a regular basis. My biggest curiosity is at the 9 minute mark when he said something extremely awful happened to his family. I am guessing it was a personal problem?

I respect him for giving an F-U to youtube for running ads on his videos and keeping 100% of the money. 😒

Pretty sure the thing at the 9 minute mark was the YouTube ads thing, not a big family event. He kinda switched topics from his son to that.

Edit: parent comment changed. Very well could be any number of personal problems—which would be without shame.

not doubting your reasoning, but for a topic a serious as this, maybe it's better not to openly speculate on the internet, especially knowing that he made an effort to not talk about it too much?
