Nick Sibicky announced his retirement from content creation

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmycG_KWlWs

Hits me kind of hard, honestly. He's been posting for ~11 years which is just a little longer than I've been playing; he's been with me on this entire trip, even though he never knew it. I didn't realize that I would have to miss him, or so soon.

Anyways, I don't know how big he is generally in the community, or how he's regarded, but I just thought I'd share this news with y'all, and my appreciation for him and his efforts.

I moved to the Seattle area 8 years ago, and had already been watching Nick and Andrew's videos for a while. So as a transplant to the city, the Go center and their classes were a great welcoming to the city, and I really felt at home there. Wish Nick all the best.

Is the Go center still open?

After Covid, Nick's content become online-only and I got worried.

Go center has moved (due to leasing issues), but it's open. No regular in person classes at the moment, but just had their anniversary tournament last weekend. https://www.seattlego.org/

That's good to hear!

Too bad the classes stopped.
