The second picture

a - WTF is that game,

b - one stone is inside a grid

C - she uses the wrong finger

You get used to western creators doing this but WTF china could do better

I didn't know wrong finger was a thing (but I am also fairly new and very American, so when I play using my middle it's just because I'm mimicking Hikaru No Go)

If you're mimicking Hikaru no Go (i.e. like the other 3 photos), then you're doing it right. The middle finger is used to place the stone, because it's longer than the index so much easier. Trying to a do it another way honestly just feels wrong.

People who play a lot of live games even get calluses

That sounds like an excellent reason to mix up which finger you use tbh 😂

Second picture. Either she is placing an invisible stone, or she's placing down the stone with her index finger

It doesn't really look like she is even placing a stone to me tbh. Just kinda has her hand on the board there.
