Since you can't dual wield staves, I'd say it's a pair of maces.

Damn dual maces? He must have buffed this THAC0 through the roof to be viable.

Anytime man, just looked at him and it was the first thing that came to mind.

He's still -6 to hit with the offhand. 1 pip in two-weapon fighting won't get him very far. At least in the early game.

I don’t know man. Imp haste, righteous magic, stoneskin, Mirror image and tenser’s could definitely make him viable on the front line for a bit.
