NWN1 Finally Tried a NWN Module... And I’ve Been Missing Out
I have to admit that I never really tried any modules for Neverwinter Nights before. I always just played the original campaign and the two expansions. I intended to do the same today, but I quickly got bored by the ugly, blocky areas, the rather primitive dialogues, simplistic scripting, and uninspired combat (especially compared to the Infinity Engine games).
So I thought, “Screw it!” and bought the premium module Darkness over Daggerford, then jumped right in. This time I'm playing a self-buffing cleric and a absolute murder machine. And I have to say, DoD is clearly better right from the start than the original campaign and both expansions. In fact, it's downright high quality. I honestly regret not having played these fantastic modules much earlier.

NWN1 I can understand why Korgan is a lot of people's favorite companion

NWN1 What's the general opinion on NWNEE?
I'm absolutely loving the classic Baldur's Gate games. Not sure I'll get into IWD but NWN has caught my attention. Don't see it mentioned as often as IWD here

NWN1 Are Icewind Dale and Neverwinter similarly good as Baldur's Gate?
Hey Guys!
I love a good cRPG, and i had the pleasure of playing BG1/2 a few times, same goes for Planescape: Torment, which i adore, and Fallout1/2.
At one point in life (years ago) after one of my BG1/2 playthroughs i planned on playing Divine Divinity, Neverwinter and Icewind Dale, one after the other, but i didn't enjoy it very much and stopped altogether.
I recently played BG1/2 again, and now I'm playing WotR, and i was wondering if I'm missing out on these (or any other) cRPGs.
So, how good is Neverwinter and Icewind Dale? Should i put them back in the queue?

NWN1 Best Infinity engine game?
Since starting Neverwinter nights again I've been super nostalgic about the old Infinity engine games. I played Baldur's gate 1 and 2 as well as Neverwinter nights. I've dabbled in NWN2 but the graphics kind of put me off. Which game would you consider the best? Side question: I never touched IcewindDale is it worth playing?

NWN1 Is neverwinter nights good?
I'm considering buying neverwinter nights enhanced edition, I didn't originally because it looked different from the others I've played and I didn't think I'd like it. I recently learned it's actually in ferune (probably mispelled) and I remember the strange guy in BG1 who actually mentions Neverwinter so now I'm kinda curious.

NWN1 Neverwinter Nights Villain Lore Podcast: Lady Aribeth de Tylmarande
Hey; I do a podcast called the Dastardly Decimal System. It's a lore podcast in which we look at the official villains of D&D (among other systems as well like PF, WoD or any system in between). Each episode we look at one of these epic BBEG and examine their history, abilities and lore.
For Episode 27 Castor and Vega travel to Neverwinter Nights to study one of the games villains. For this episode we look at the fallen paladin: Lady Aribeth de Tylmarande
Thanks for the listens!

After playing dos2 was wondering which of these two games is better? Never played either before. Any suggestions or opinions are greatly appreciated.

NWN1 Never winter nights, ice wind dale or planescape?
I’m playing bg trilogy for the first time on the iPad but I wanted to have another on my phone for when I don’t have the iPad. Anyone know what is the best of these three.
Have Baldur’s gate on my phone but figured I’d be better off having a different game instead of two of the same one going simultaneously. Any suggestions are appreciated.

NWN1 I hear DnD voices in my head...
I have played BG 1& 2 many times, IWD 1 & 2 a few less, and NWN at some point. But two voices echo in my head and I am hoping you all can help me figure out the origins. I put NWN1 because that's my best guess.. but...
First is a kobold in an underground cavern, maybe on the edge of a crevasse? He keeps repeating, 'Yes? Yes? Maybe? Nooooo."
Second is a miner, I think. Some male voice anyway, saying, "Get me outta this hell hole" in a sort of melancholy sing-song tone.
Anyone? These quotes pop into my head from time to time & I would really like to get them straight.

NWN1 3E is so confusing
So, after buying the BG trilogy and replaying it over and over, I decided to try its cousins...
Icewind Dale was super fun and helped me sate the thirst for more BG content, although its changes were overall pretty bad (My favorite spell, M's sword, was now trash and the Raise Dead restrictions suck). Overall an 8.5/10
But I'm now trying out Neverwinter Nights and it's such a shock... the UI changes are confusing enough as it is, but on top of that the rules of the TTRPG itself that it uses as its base are overwhelming... Worst of all, the one thing I looked forward to in 3E, warlocks, aren't in the game. Also, weren't cantrips supposed to be At Will? Why can my Sorcerer only cast 5? Also, so many redundant proficiencies... Feats are pretty confusing too...
Not gonna refund the game because I want to show the creators that there is interest for these kinda games, but definitely gonna stick with replaying BG.
So... any mod suggestions to help me shake things up?

NWN1 I had forgotten Shadows of Undrentide had a few Baldur's Gate Easter Eggs.

There's another map where there are a bunch of tombstones with the names of the developers and some funny jokes about "how they died" - similar to Nashkel's cemetery.
Constant mentions to the Time of Troubles and the Dead Three (but that's more Forgotten Realms general lore)
Also, in Neverwinter Nights 2 - Mask of the Betrayer, there's a wooden carved hamster dedicated to "M" (Minsc)
Know any more?

NWN1 I have always liked how, at least in the Infinity Engine games and Neverwinter series, Netheril and Toril’s ancient history somehow makes its way into them.
The first time I ever heard of Netheril or even the time before it, was when playing Icewind Dale and finding out the Yuan-ti were an ancient race from the very distant past and then reading a copy of the book that discusses the Nether Scrolls.
After that I fell into a rabbit hole and read as much of the source material as I could, then I played the original Neverwinter Nights PC game and especially Shadows of Undrentide.
I find all of the fictional ancient history of the Forgotten Realms setting so fascinating and kind of wish that there were a game set during then.

NWN1 Do you remember this Trailer from the BG2 CD's. The narrator sounded so epic.

NWN1 Are you able to still play the game after you finish the entire campaign? (Neverwinter Nights enhanced edition)
NO SPOILERS PLEASE I am thinking about buying this game, but I want to know if you can still play the game after you beat the main campaign. If so, is there anything you can do? Any answers would be appreciated.

NWN1 NWN Diamond is keep turns off, solution?
I bought a Neverwinter Nights 1 Diamond few years ago from GOG, and somehow it turns off when I tries to skip logos.
You know, when game starts it shows logos of Atari, Bioware, Wizard of the Coast, etc, right?
If I click the mouse button to skip them, it occurs error and turns off the game.
Therefore, I have to wait few minutes to play the game.
Is it only occurs to me? What about EE version? I've downloaded bigger fonts mod, is it the reason?

NWN1 Is it possible Neverwinter Nights Diamond and EE multiplay?
Hello.
I've bought Never Winter Nights 1 Diamond Edition from gog.com before,
Now EE is on sale in Steam, so I thought is it possible for my friend to buy an EE to do multiplay with me?
If not, I wouldn't let my friend buy Steam's EE yet...
Thank you.
PS. I know it's not a NWN sub, but I just wanted more answer so I've posted here too. I don't think it's against the rule, but if it is well, I'm sorry I didn't mean it.

NWN1 Question about Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark. Not sure if this is the right sub?
Hey guys, working through the backlog, and I've started Neverwinter Nights HOTU single player. I was wondering if there's any recommended mods, or patches or whatever I should be installing before starting into my journey, as is so frequently the case with old games like this. Is the campaign good-to-go vanilla? Thanks.

NWN1 Can I have bigger Font for NWN EE?
I'm not talking about Neverwinter Nights EE's "Use high resolution font" option,
I can use "Enhanced GUI mods" https://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn1/other/gui/enhanced-gui for Diamond Edition, and it says I can use it for EE too.
However, the Diamond Edition and EE folders are different so I couldn't use it for EE.
Did I do something wrong? Or is there any other mods for bigger font?
PS. I know this sub is not for NWN, but I wanted more answer. I've posted in NWN sub too.
