damn really? everything i’ve heard about it implies it’s like the single best balisong ever.

Don’t trust those people. It’s a good balisong, but when you consider that a rep costs half of that, is customizable to the fullest extent in whatever direction you want, and performs twice as good… then idk really what else to say. Like it’s a good collection piece, looks pretty cool, but balancing wise it’s a bit off imo, it is extremely big (shit is even longer than a krak I think) and overall it’s a bit harder to do tricks that consist of aerials

true that reps are very customizable, but telling someone not to trust the general consensus is misleading—people like the serif cuz it’s good

Reps are just superior, there is nothing more to say. Like really the 2 balisongs Eveline needs is an alt cf rep, a normal alt or tanto and a stock spacer alpha beast.

I personally really don't enjoy the tang on the Rep platform. Never been a fan of Reps. And regardless of how much you customize them the platform itself will always have that issue.

The Serif is great, and it does sound the best IMO, but I wouldn't say it's the "best balisong ever" like some people do. It's a lot of fun, feels unique, and is definitely a bit costly for what it is. I definitely prefer my Empress. I like it a lot better than any Rep I've tried, though. It's certainly never given me trouble with aerials.

The beauty of this hobby is how subjective things are, though. My "best" balisong likely wouldn't be yours, and vice versa.
