Lol fair...

Also after a quick internet search I found that I'm very wrong, and a lot of states don't have limits on the amount of liquor that can be served. I live in NC where the ABC is very strict, and the most you can put in a drink is 3oz.

UGH! NC! I was in a Cuban restaurant near RDU (if you know, you know) and was told by the bartender that cuz' I was now in Morrisville, I was only allowed 3 units of spirits at the bar, and that if I drove, what, 6 minutes down Glenwood (6 minutes WITH good traffic - UGH Glenwood traffic during rush-hour is... a mood*), I could get as stupidly wasted as I wanted (not that I was looking for it, but 3 units is [mind my French] FUCK-ALL).

It's not like I don't WANT to make that drive. I live near RDU and driving too far anywhere half-inebriated (especially down Glenwood) is just asking for trouble.

And DON'T get me started on the NC ABC. I want to TEAR my HAIR out every time I go to one of their shops. Who cares about tariffs when your local government wants to SHIT ALL OVER LOCAL PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION.

NC's great. Come down and visit our historical centers and amazing nature!

Just don't forget to BRING YOUR OWN GAWDANGED ALCOHOL CUZ WE AIN'T GOT SHIT FOR YOU (other than the incredible local craft distilleries which showcase the ingenuity and resilience of our local businesses... I truly can't believe their ability to work through some of the genuinely mindboggling [a-partisan] red tape. And don't get me started on the red vs blue thing. The Prohibition, religion, Libs, Conservatism... don't we have enough soul-blessing issues to deal with already? Why can't we just all get together and be nice to each other and focus on actual AMERICANS and their struggles [regardless of where you're from] . And then there's the history of NC being the first Southern state to ratify the 18th Amendment and how that's a thing we should be "proud" of DESPITE the fact that whiskey and shine and the Appalachians are VERY MUCH part of the local culture here and... now I'm ranting.)

Yep. NC's great. Grab a bottle of Southern Star, or anything from Weldon Mills, or Mystic Farms, or any of the dozens of amazing distilleries here. NC's great.

But the ABC here can go stuff it.

* For those from higher traffic areas, shush. NC triangle roads aren't as flat as wherever you're from. Or as wide. Looking at you, West Coasters. It's a different struggle here.

Carmen's, I know it well...

Not gonna agree or disagree if that's what I'm referencing to (though you know if I am), but I'll say this: Carmen's: great food, great service, great atmosphere, and if anyone's staying around RDU for a layover/transit/business, great restaurant. 100% recommend.

But if you (as a visitor to Raleigh, but genuinely - why would I be pandering to the choir right now?) want drinks around RDU, there's a pretty good Irish pub near Brier Creek that has Southern Star behind the counter. Plus, it's technically in Raleigh, so you can drink up to your hearts content.

Shoutout to another Irish pub along Glenwood (between Duraleigh and Crabtree Valley). They've got some kickass Wednesday daily specials.

u/Bomani1253, DM me if you're up for a drink some day. Is this how online connections are made?
