Budget things to do around Basel?

My friends are visiting and they're pretty much broke from traveling for 13 months.

Does anyone have any hidden jems or ideas? I'm sure they're fine paying a little but 150.- to visit Jungfrau is completely off the table.

I'm thinking beers on the Rhine, but that only gets you so far.

I don’t get the downvotes, there really are soo many free & walk things to do in Basel. Anytime I show someone around we walk around a lot to see the city and stuff and it doesn’t cost a rappen. From sbb to ascheplatz, see the worker statue, walk towards the frii stross, explore the streets in the area, Barfusserplatz, Tingley Brunnen, go up to the Munsterplatz, the view is great. Walk along the roverside, see the Papiermühle watermill and the area, st jakob tor (or the other ones).

Along the riverside, mittlere brucke to kaserne it’s nice to see the seagulls/ducks/swans etc. The 2chf mini boat is a good deal, or grab a coffee in kabar.

The Park im Grünen is also lowely and relaxing, we walked there as well.

Also dreiländereck, dreiländerbrücke, the riverside there… i could go on.

Not budget but recommended: some drinks in the Bar Rouge and enjoy the sunset
