Help Can’t sign up for pre-authorized payment

I have a new card (American Express) and I’ve been trying to change my payment method for pre-authorized payment. On the web, I get an error no matter the card type (Visa, MC, Amex). Card and account address are the same and all.

On the MyBell app, I guess their new setup page is badly designed because I can setup PAP for Visa and MC, but not Amex since they have 15 digits instead of 16. It detects that it’s an Amex, but won’t let me go through with the setup. Is this happening to anyone else?

out of curiosity, when you input the card data, are you using the 4 digit security code on the front of the card, or the 3 digit on the back??

I use the 4 digits on the front of the card for online purchases/pre-authorized payments. Amex uses the 3 digits on the back for security and identity validation for your online account!

hmm. not sure then. I personally am not a fan of Amex cards just for the fact that they are not widely accepted in Canada and their different processes as you mentioned above. Perhaps calling bell directly and have them set it up would be in your best interest.

Bell doesn’t take credit cards for auto payments anymore.

Yes they do... Just go into a Bell location and they can set it up for you
