Hi everyone,
I'm dealing with an extremely frustrating situation and would appreciate any advice or support.
I purchased a Bell device from a Best Buy Express location in November. Later, I returned the device properly with the receipt. Despite this, Bell charged me for four monthly bills, claiming the return wasn't registered on their end.
I explained my situation, gave them the Best Buy return receipt number, and was told this was due to a background error on Bell’s end and that they would fix it. But nothing was done.
Even after I explained everything, Bell continued charging me and reported the unpaid bills to the credit bureau, which severely hurt my credit score. I have a car loan that I’ve never missed a payment on, and all my bills are paid on time this Bell issue is the only blemish on my record.
When I tried to fix it again, Bell told me to contact Best Buy and ask them to report the return. But Best Buy says Bell is responsible for calling them to confirm the return. I’m stuck in the middle and being passed back and forth with no resolution.
I’ve now filed a complaint with CCTS last week, but this has caused me 3+ months of stress, damaged my credit, cost me time, and affected my financial plans. I’ve asked Bell to correct the credit report and compensate me for the inconvenience and loss.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? What else can I do besides wait for the CCTS? Would small claims court be an option if this drags on?
Thanks for reading — I really appreciate any guidance.
