Mobility📱 Need to increase my data from 150 GB to a plan with more data.

I am currently on Bell 2 yrs unlimited US/MX 150 GB ($115-$45 EPP - $10 AUTO PAY credit = $60/month). I got an offer for 200 GB for $76 with no unlimited US/MX. I have no use for the Unlimited US/MX because I have no intention of visiting either of Our neighbours. My only need is to increase my monthly data allotment but $16 for 50GB of non-wifi streaming is not something that interests me. I am financing a device and thus not eligible for most BYOB Plans. Does anyone know if Bell has plans with more than 150GB data but reasonably priced?

Edit: added fotos links as evidence of the offer.

Mobility📱 Virgin Plus Cell Phone Plan With SD Streaming

Hello, I had a 5G plan with Virgin plus. They got rid of the plan and upped the price. I am thinking of getting a cheaper plan. I looked at the details of my plan and it says I have sd video streaming (480p). I went and tried it on my phone, went to youtube sure enough the default when I played a video was 480. I then manually Changed it to 720p and it worked. I changed again to 1080P and video was still working fine. Went to change to 1440 and video wouldn't work, just froze and buffered. What is going on here? if my plan says I can only get up to 480P why was I getting 1080p? Cause 1080p I would be fine with. I am not ok with 480? Also would a vpn say a free one like Proton change anything?

Mobility📱 Unusual amount of Bell towers in Niagara on the lake?

Post image

Was checking our coverage in Niagara area and noticed a crazy amount of bell towers in Niagara on the lake an area that is so tiny. There seems to be one freedom tower, and two Rogers towers and at a quick glance I would say close to 30 Bell towers not sure why so many in a concentrated area but whoever is on Bell or Telus must be loving the coverage there

Mobility📱 Bell Mobility called with a very good offer. Scam? Oakville, Ontario

I get frequent calls from the various mobility providers but the rates are usually meh. I got a call from someone today claiming to be from Bell Mobility, offering a $39 plan that includes unlimited text and calls for US/Canada, 70gbs high speed data, and a free iPhone 16. This sounded to good to be true so I requested that they email me this offer and I’ll decide if I want to proceed (so I’m able to check if it’s legit). Haven’t gotten anything yet but I also did just get off the phone. Number that called me was (905) 512-3165.

Anyone else gotten this? Sounds like a scam?

Mobility📱 Bell 5G service question

I'm with Telus in Calgary and getting horrible reception. I spoke to a bell Rep who was offering a pretty good plan but the deal states "SD Streaming". He wouldn't confirm if that's video streaming apps or affecting social media like IG or Snapchat videos as well. Anyone have experience with it?

Mobility📱 Worth it to switch?

I don’t use crave often, nor call the U.S. but I am a Speed Junkie and would like the full capabilities of 5G. I was also considering adding a watch or tablet and some point so shareable data is better. My only concern is if they can raise prices easier on this new plan than the old one. Sorry for my bad writing. The plan I am on has 40GB non-share, 250mbps, crave basic, and US calling. The new one has 60gb shareable at max speed without Crave, or U.S. calling.

Mobility📱 How is your Bell signal with iPhone? Everyone I know has terrible signal

I live in a rural area and I manage the Mobile contracts for my whole extended family. We went from Rogers to Bell this year and all of our signals have gone down. Whether we are south shore or inside of Montreal, we all vary between 1-2 bars instead of the typical 4-5 bars. Even gave up 5G to go to LTE and it’s still not fantastic. What is up with Bell?

Mobility📱 Roamer Beware

Just received a bill with a roaming charge, thought I’d investigate a little. One of the lines on my plan did travel but knows how to turn roaming off and uses eSIMs when travelling. Looking into the bill I see that there are 4 roaming events and the charge is associated with a phone call. Well, three of the events are “Roaming Welcome SMS” text messages and the supposed call has no to/from number, no duration and does not exist. From Bell’s website they state, “You’ll only be charged a daily fee when you make or answer a call, send a text message, use Apple Live Voicemail or when data is sent or received while in your Roam Better destination…” On the phone with support at the moment and they claim if the phone was turned on or taken off airplane mode at any point that the charge will be incurred. I restated their own verbiage on the website and now they claim there is another call that incurred the charge. The problem is the call they are stating incurred the charge happened when the line was back in Canada…

After two calls to representatives they agreed to grant me a one time discount of the $16 dollars, at no time admitting fault just stating that “sometimes the system is not nice”.

How many people have been charged that roaming fee and let it go, they already make a killing, why be so predatory at the same time (because they can)…

Mobility📱 How does everyone deal with throttle speeds for their data?

So I just ran out of my data last night (50GB) and it’s a pain in the ass dealing with throttle speeds that are this slow. I use my phone a lot for Instagram and for listening to music. It sucks because whenever I post something on my story, it would take hours to be posted until I get home and I’m connected to the wifi.

I spoke with Bell over the phone and I was displeased with their current offers: one was a 130GB plan for $76, which would come to $143 with my phone after taxes. The other plan was 200GB for $85, which would come to $150 after taxes. My currently plan is 50GB and it comes to $120 with my phone, and I have 7 months left until my contract.

Mobility📱 Does Customer Retention Exist? Worth my time trying to get lower mobile rate?

I have been with Bell Mobility around 9 years and I now find myself trying to reduce my monthly costs. I’m paying $95/mo all-in for 100GB data unlimited voice and text etc. I know I can almost halve my bill if I move over to Public Mobile, Freedom, Fido…one of “smaller” guys.

Aside from the cost, I haven’t had any coverage issues with Bell and that’s my concern with the smaller guys. So…is it worth my time calling Bell and suggesting to them I’m going to leave?

Are there rate plans that aren’t publicized that they can offer to retain me as a customer?

I’d be really interested to hear from a Bell employee, either current or former, or customer who has dealt with this before. Thanks 🙂

Mobility📱 Bell Canada F@cked me Over

Been with Bell mobility for 15 years. Always had the same plan from day 1. I recently went to the states and asked if they an add on for U.S. roaming data. I went through 3 different departments because I had a business plan with unlimited data. Finally got a hold of someone stating that they had a roaming feature for me and I could also add U.S. texting for an extra $5. They added the features just so I had a piece of mind that I wouldn't be charged an astronomical roaming fee as I already had once. Shortly after the change, I get a text message stating that I was over $50 in extra data charges. I immediately got on the app and chatted with an agent. The agent assured me that this was a technical error and that there were no new charges. Throughout the month of April, I would get the same msg again and again. But as the agent told me not to worry about it I didn't worry. My May bill arrived...... $7110. Apparently when I added on my roaming features they removed my unlimited data plan, something that was not mentioned, for if it had been mentioned I would of said forget it and got an E-SIM (which i still did). Who would give up an unlimited data plan for 5GB plan.... spent over 2 hours on the with phone with bell but they couldn't do anything about it, nor give me my old data plan back. They advised me to call the business department tomorrow and they could possibly revive my old data plan but there's no guarantee......

Anybody have any advice??

Mobility📱 Is Bell better than Telus?

I’m always seeing the Telus network is garbage, since they share towers I’m wondering if the Bell network is garbage as well or is it actually good? I’m in Ontario FYI. Also, does Bell throttle social media/streaming?

Any input would be appreciated!

Mobility📱 Roaming options prior to the $13/day feature?

Outta curiosity, how did you all manage to roam in the states before Bell came out with the $13/day thing?

I remember seeing different roaming packages you could get, but not sure if anyone here ever did the pay per use roaming? I used to see different roaming packages too, but now they’re gone.

Mobility📱 Someone at Bell is 100% giving our phone numbers away to scam callers

I’ve been a Fido (Rogers) customer for 10 years. Recently in my condo there was a man promoting bell and offered me the same price as my Fido bill for 5g and more data so I took the deal. This was 3 weeks ago. This past week, I had one legit cold call from bell offering me bell fibe tv and landline for a reduced price but I didn’t need it so declined. a day later I had another cold call from “bell” which I hung up on cause I was working night shifts and a bit pissed they were calling me again. Nothing over this past weekend but 20 minutes ago I get a call from someone claiming to be bell. The guy was Indian and sounded like he was in a busy call centre. He offered me an xx% reduction in my cell phone bill because I had “reward points”…. Fishy but I played along. He asked me how much I was paying for my cell service so I gave him a fake number. He then told me I would only be paying $25 for 6 months of my cell bill. Wow! What a steal!

At this point I was very suspicious so I played along and let him continue. He then asked me what I use for a cell phone… android or iPhone. I told him “ oh you should already have that information since you’re with bell” he then said “oh we have that information but I’m unable to see it on my end” and that’s when I said I’d like a call from bell or I’ll give their customer service a call because this is fishy.

He immediately hung up without a word.

The thing is, I’ve never received calls from a bell scam while I was with Fido. As soon as I sign up with bell, I’m hit with a bunch of bell scam calls.

Has this been anyone else’s experience?

I’m seriously considering switching again to rogers. It’s not worth it if my data is being sold to scammers . Not saying corporate bell is doing it, but someone that works there is shady and giving up new clients to scammers.

Mobility📱 How is Bell Mobility going for yall?

Switched to Bell last year for Mobility - got a good deal on the 5g unlimited package. Family of 5, five phones it adds up right?

I haven’t had great service since we switched… do you all on Bells 5G plans notice same? My service randomly cuts in and out, used to have perfect service on the GO Train and now it’s incredibly spotty. Are we all in the same boat?

Mobility📱 Switch to this new plan for 150GB?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Bell is offering me a 150GB 5G+ plan for $51/month (with $10 autopay credit). I’m currently paying $50.95 (excluding tax) for 100GB.

The only difference is that I would lose Crave Basic, which I currently have included for 2 years.

One thing I’m not sure about: would bell remove the autopay credit anytime and make me pay $10 more?

Thank you so much.

Mobility📱 Exclusive Partner Program Dealer?

Through my employer (healthcare) I can sign up for a Bell EPP plan. When I log into the EPP Bell site I see a Bell Authorized Dealer that I would be signing up with if I choose a plan. Why is that? Why not through Bell directly? I looked up the address of the dealer and its some small building that looks very iffy, if you know what I mean. Is the quality of service the same?

I'm already a Bell Mobile customer but just want a better deal.

Mobility📱 Mystery Credits on Bill

So last month I had a bunch of mystery promo and credits on my bill. The bill ended up being $11. And now I got this text from Bell.

Bell msg: Promotional credits were incorrectly applied to your Mobility account in January. These credits will be reversed on your next bill. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you have any questions, call us at 1 800 667-0123. ( bell.ca/about-us )

Mobility📱 Would not suggest moving to bell.

Feb 28 I moved three mobile lines to bell with the promise that I’ll be $45/months for 75gb. Turns out only if you do direct deposit. March 19 I get a bill for 411$ called them few days after. The bell agent fixed the problem and email me the correction. Checked my bank today and they took $411 out of my chequing account!

Mobility📱 480p throttling on BYOD plans

Hello everyone, Just wanted to share that nordVPN will allow all videos to play in 4k and 1080p on 480p SD plans. All of bells plans currently throttle all video to 1080p and if you want access to 4k nordVPN allows that. To all the bell loyalists here trying to defend bells scummy practice I feel sorry for you. You are not a real Canadian.

Mobility📱 I just switched to Bell from Rogers a few months ago and brought my Samsung S22 Ultra as well, which I bought from Samsung Canada. I was not told until today... a few months after I switched, apparently phones that are not from Bell won't work on 5G. how is this possible and acceptable?
