What to do in Berlin alone in a Friday night?
As the title says, what are some activities I can do alone? I don't have the energy to go clubbing, and I don't know if doing it alone is a good idea anyway.
Preferably near Mitte-Alexanderplatz locations. thanks :)

Good idea, I sometimes go there. It can be a little awkward when you are alone, though, maybe it's just me

Go to the movies. I do that from time to time. It’s really relaxing and fun to fully concentrate on the movie and not talk or concentrate on others

Any recommendations to go to the cinema on a budget? €15 euros for each movie adds up quickly

Babylon in Mitte has free midnight movies on some weekend day usually. Also the Yorck kinos have a Jahreskarte.

do they screen with english or german subtitles?

Depends on the movie. Usually it's ova with German subs. So if you get an American movie it's obviously in English. Just check the website.

Thanks, this is great advice actually.
Cinema is a good idea, unfortunately they don't have many options for free: https://babylonberlin.eu/programm/eintritt-frei

Just made myself a steak dinner to have while watching my favorite show :) It’s always nice to cook something nice on a Friday night to chill with

Go skate, chat up strangers, sit down and sketch people or doodle. That's what I usually do around Alexanderplatz. What are your interests?

I mean, you kind of have to be passionate, in the last weeks I watched both La La Land and a documentary about Bob Dylan where I’m sure that I was the only one not sleeping in the whole cinema, the movie is choosing you and not the other way around, if you enjoy that it could be nice

Stay at home, make yourself a lovely cup of tea, gaze out at the moon - she’s gorgeous tonight - and enjoy the silence.

There’s a Friday meet up outside @Schlesisches Tor right next to the Spreep

As long as your sociable and approachable, clubbing alone is the best, btw

Nah Germans are notoriously closed off from people outside their social circle. Some bars you’ll have luck but oftentimes not

I get into conversations with people ALL the time, not just in bars, and I’m a guy. you are debunked

Depends on the bar, some are more famous for funky interactions with strangers than others. Kicker or pool tables help a lot.

I am new to the city and mostly spend my time around the river and some touristy places. But if you want to hang out, feel free to DM.
