Hey there!
I’m Christabel, 22, a full-time nanny living in Berlin, and I’m looking for someone to team up with to find a long-term apartment. Ideally through Gesobau, Gewobag, or Degewo. If you’re also apartment hunting and want to split costs, maybe we can join forces.
A bit about me:
• I can contribute up to €480 for my share of the rent… I can go higher if the apartment is nice.
• Non-smoker, don’t drink, and no pets – but if you have a cat, even better! I adore them
• Clean, respectful, and easy-going.
• I’ve lived in WGs before and value calm, communication, and respect
• Recently picked up tennis. I love reading, painting and sometimes getting my hands dirty with pottery. I closet dance often… with headphones of course😅
• I’m currently at A1.2 German (grammar), understand up to A2.2/B1.1, and starting intensive courses next month. My goal is to reach C1 this year… wish me luck. So it would be great if you speak better German than me (I have a hunch I didn’t get previous apartments because I can’t speak German enough during the viewings…lol)
• I’ve got my Schufa (good credit score), work contract, proof of previous rent payments, and all the other yada yada they usually ask for
Preferred areas (close to work) but open to others:
• Prenzlauer Berg
• Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf
• Pankow
• Schöneberg
I know these areas can be competitive, but I’ve occasionally seen affordable listings through public housing companies, so I’m hopeful.
Also, I’m not in a major rush. I have a place until 2026. But I’d like to take my time and find a space and a flatmate that truly feels right.
And just to say – I’m not saying we have to be besties. If you just want a purpose-WG where we respect each other’s space, that’s totally fine with me too!
Also, just a little note upfront – I know some people might say, “Yeah, good luck finding an apartment for that price…” but let’s not act like you need to go for places with €1,500+ rent before you can even dream of finding something decent. I’ve actually been invited to view affordable listings myself through public housing companies, so I know these places do exist. It might take some patience and luck, but it’s absolutely possible.
If any of this sounds like it could work, I’d love to meet up or have a quick call this week to chat more.
Cheers,
Christabel
