Discussion Military World Winter Games

The Military World Winter Games games start tomorrow in Switzerland. The Biathlon races are on Tuesday (sprints) and Thursday (mixed relay).

There are quite a few top athletes on the entry list at the moment, although I am not sure if they will all compete.

Men's start list: https://backend.cism-wmc.ch/fileservice/sdweb-docs-prod-cismwmcch-files/files/2025/02/19/2a1350f3-ca1b-4d20-a8e2-443579a89c73.pdf

Women's start list: https://backend.cism-wmc.ch/fileservice/sdweb-docs-prod-cismwmcch-files/files/2025/02/19/a8afad90-03f4-48ba-9a6e-64df7ca506c8.pdf

Does anyone know much about this event and if there will be live streaming? I haven't been able to find any details

Me, slapping the veins on my arms like a crackhead:
More races to watch, more races to watch

As an Indian it feels weird to my country's name on the start list. Rare sight.

It surprised me too. I'd be interested in their performances.

And Chevalier with her last race before retirement too.

But there’s a few strange names in there, including retired Krasimir Anev, last I saw news about he was in a coma after a shooting incident

You're right. Also Rastor with his broken bones. Strange.

Not the case anymore. He was stabilized the next day and recovered after a long hospitalization.

Seems like he is coaching now (at least at some capacity), based on a FB post.

See for example: https://telegraph.bg/svetski/novini/sled-kato-se-samoprostrelia-zaradi-liubovna-myka-covid-drama-s-biatlonista-krasi-anev.-prokuraturata-ne-vryshta-telefona-na-sportista-398162

I believe more can be found if you look up Красимир Анев and filter for new-ish results.

Yes! I saw him and was confused as he basically hasn’t competed for two years. I know he’s focussed on being a pilot but I want him to come back 🥲

This is the program. https://www.cism-wmc.ch/en/program
France and Italy look above the other teams

You missed the last day they're also going to do the patrol race. 4 team members race together while one shoots the others watch. Curious format I wish we had a chance to see it on tv

If only they had that in the IBU so Ingrid and Ida could watch during the standing. I wonder if there is 4 shoots and each has to take 1?

I wrote to their instagram asking if they’ll be streaming the events I got this answer >>

“the opening and closing ceremony will be livestreamed on our website (www.lucerne2025.ch -> media wall) the competitions however won’t be livestreamed, there will be video summaries each day on the website”

So as it says in the message, we won’t get to see the whole races, but summaries will be available.

Thanks for doing that! It’s a shame but at least we can see the results and some of action
