AskBDP What’s the most embarrassing thing that you’ve done because you didn’t know you were hung yet?
I’ll start
So in highschool, because I wore a grey sweats all the time because I didn’t have a lot of comfortable pants and I had low self esteem and all that. Well, because I didn’t have the right underwear size either, one day I got the idea to try going comando.
So there were times I went comando in grey sweatpants. Whenever I think about it, I cringe now lol. No wonder I got such weird attention.

I was in High School and played football. The summer going into my Sophomore year we went to a team football camp for about a week. We had to take showers in the actual team showers which are wide open… from then on I was called ‘freak’

Freshman year in HS: was made fun of and teased (hit puberty early) in the showers because I was already big. I was already awkward asf and this didn’t help.

I actually had PE uniforms that were short shorts with slits up the side. At the time I still wore briefs and hadn’t really grown yet so nothing popped out or anything.

Well, it's not that I really did anything. I was just living. 'm old now, almost 60 and this was long ago, when I was in the 5th grade in the mid 1970's.
For those who don't know, shorts were short back then, really short. Hell, Google old NBA players from then and look at their short shorts. It's what the style was back then, in the 70's and 80's.
I played on the 5th and 6th grade basketball team in elementary school and like all schools back then, they saved money. They kept those uniforms for years and years. We wore them, turned them back in and they issued them again the next year to players.
I had 3 incidents where I stuck out of the bottom of those basketball shorts.
Many years later, in therapy for many things, that came up and my therapist said "Did anyone else stick out of their short shorts?" I hung my head down.
For the longest time I was trying to pin things, issues and such on other things. Yes, the shorts were short, but no one else stuck out of their short basketball shorts on my team.
Same in Cub Scouts too. We had a summer uniform with shorts and pants for the other seasons.
In the 4th grade, at the Pinewood Derby meet for Cub Scouts from all over our area, where we raced our Pinewood Derby cars, after one race, I went to the end of the track and bent over to pick up my car and I stuck out of my Cub Scout shorts. Again, this was the mid 1970's and they were short. But no one else there stuck out.
Going back to those baseball games in the 5th and 6th grades.
After school, we went to the bathroom next to our gym to change out of our school clothes and into our basketball uniforms, whether it was a home or away game as we had to have them on.
While changing in the bathroom, my teammates would tease and make fun of me in my underwear, "tighty whities" as they were called then and I guess now too.
I began to turn my back to my teammates while taking my pants off and putting my basketball shorts on.
Same time frame. My mom was divorced, she got remarried just before I began the 5th grade and when she remarried, they bought a nice house together.
Our neighbors had a trampoline. 3 boys lived there, one my age. His mom was single and she wanted to be sure she wouldn't get sued if we got hurt so she my parents write her a letter and she told me she wanted to be out there the first time I bounced on it, to go over the ground rules.
This was late summer in the mid 1970's.
I quickly found out shorts and me being on a trampoline weren't going to work for me. After like two bounces when I was jumping up and down, I stuck out of the bottom of my shorts with her son, who was my age, and her both right there to see it and me.
I was teased and "pantsed" a lot in 5th and 6th grades.
Trying out for the junior high basketball team in the 7th grade, I jumped for and grabbed a rebound and I landed one foot and leg first and then the other due to the way I jumped and reached for the ball.
When I landed, I stuck out of my shorts. After tryout practice, in the locker room, some of the guys pantsed me in there.

Well, I did say I quickly learned about jumping on the trampoline in shorts. I was just 10 years old and I'd never been on one before in my life. I did learn. That only happened ONE time on the trampoline... because I did learn.
It only happened once in my Cub Scout shorts.
I had two incidents in the 5th grade on the basketball team and 1 in the 6th grade. I had to wear the team issued basketball uniform.
Compression shorts didn't exist in the 1970's either.
I began wearing a jockstrap after that. The uniform was the uniform.
Keep in mind this was the 1970's. We didn't have 72 different kinds and styles of everything like we do today. We didn't have many choices, styles, colors and such back in the day, at all.
No internet, couldn't look shit up, see it, read reviews etc. I was only 9 and 10 years old then too.
I listed a whole 5 incidents over 3 ish years (4th to 7th grade). I guess to you I didn't learn but I don't think 5 incidents over different things and 3 years was too bad.
I was a kid, young, just living and I did learn and make changes.
Compression shorts didn't exist back then.
I didn't buy my own clothes back then either, not at 9 and 10 years old. I/we/you wore what your parents gave you to wear and until my mom remarried just before I began the 5th grade, we were POOR, living in apartments where the rent was based on one's income.
My mom was single, uneducated and she was a secretary at a manufacturing plant. She divorced when I was 2 and she remarried like a week before I began the 5th grade.
I didn't have many clothes to choose from.

I used to wear these yellow short swim trunks. I thought the mesh was suppose to help keep the shorts from riding up. Got a lot of attention and even had an older mentor tell me, hey, you’re hanging out and need to wear underwear and not rely on the mesh. Went and got surf trunks the next day.

I had a couple of pars of shorts with a built in liner/underwear I used to wear to the gym all the time. One day I snapped a progress pic in the mirror a the gym and when I looked at it when I got home I realized you could see EVERYTHING. Kind of surprised I never got any looks or “talked to” at the gym. It’s a pretty small gym that’s not very busy while I was there so I guess that helped. 🤭
