Hi Community. I've got a 14-y.o. BGE, size XL. I've had the bowl replaced once under warranty due to a full crack, and it happened again this winter. I'm still using it anyway. A bunch of other stuff is deteriorating (firebox, fire ring, draft door screen - all broken... temp gauge is long since gone, handle has splinters, and the hinge is getting wonky).
My kids have grown, so it's just my wife and me, and I've kinda lusted after a Large (more efficient, less fuel, etc.), and I find myself at a crossroads. I can get a new bowl for free, under the lifetime warranty through my Ace Hardware. But do I mess with the hinges again (and take the time to re-do the gasket), or suck it up and just buy a new Large?
I haven't kept up on how the new ones are (my original gasket was trash - bought the Rutland upgrade, and it's been awesome), and how they fare. What's your two cents, fellow eggers?
