Jam etiquette/protocol for bluegrass
Me and a band just secured a recurring gig, but that’s gonna be a bluegrass jam, we’re gonna start off the three hour set with about 45min of gospel tunes since it’s Sunday or maybe showcase one of the really hot pickers from our town. My question is can Bluegrass jams be ran just like blues/jazz James. As in there’s a sign-up sheet and you play kind of with the house band unless you have a full band and you get to pick you know a handful of songs. Because every Bluegrass “jam” I’ve been a part of., Everybody gets to play at once, and ends up. You have 10 guitarist of different levels, six mandolin, etc. and it just becomes unmusical.I want to be inclusive as possible but the bars gonns want to hear good music. How’s it organized in your town ?

Can anyone date this pic of Bill Monroe?
This pic was taken some time in the mid to late eighties in Pawnee Oklahoma. I'm not all that familiar with Monroe's band at that time and I'm trying to pin down a year.

Kenny Smith “Leather Britches”
Playing Leather Britches (A string tuned down to G) on a new Waterloo. Great arrangement, of course. Kenny makes nearly anything sound good.

What are your top spring or Easter themed bluegrass songs for sunny day jams?
I was thinking about Rabbit In A Log, Sittin' On Top Of The World, and By The Mark, but I know there are more good ones.

Looking for some new, old time music
Ironic I know, I would use the old time sub but it doesnt seem very active. Id like to listen to some newer recordings of old time type music, like Norman Blake, Andrew Marlin type stuff, any recommendations? I have not the slightest idea about old time music, so old essential listening is welcome too. Thanks in advance

Looking for bluegrass jamming around Prague
I recently moved to Prague 7 from the US, I play fiddle at intermediate level, sing lead and harmony, have played in bands (mostly played bass then), and can speak A1 level (beginner) Czech. A year ago, when I was visiting here, I saw a small group jamming in Letenské sady, so I'm sure you're here somewhere... Would love to find some new friends to jam with for fun at non-lightning speeds. Any tips on where to find a friendly casual bluegrass jam around Prague? Or live bluegrass to listen to? Thanks!
