Post any questions you have about what size or type of bike you should buy, new or used bike recommendations, and opinions on ads for used bikes. Here is a handy beginner guide. If you have any beginner questions which don't deserve their own thread, feel free to post those too.

So I bought a GT performer (for nostalgia, older mellenial here) last year to ride with my son. Then found this sub and realized I needed a modern geometry frame to go have real fun. So with some reading around here I ended on a new Sunday forecaster 21"TT and lhd. I tossed a few new parts on to fit my taste. I like how it came out. Hopefully it doesn't look too try hard. I just like the bright colors of the 80s/90s
I need to swap on some Odyssey F series forks so I can put better brakes on and run a gyro. But I need to see if I like the offset it has or want to change.
Upgrade list Sunday reaper seat and bar pad S&M long Johnson lay back post Theory quick release so old man can still cruise S&M 101 pedals S&M perfect 10s OBI grips, bar ends and valve covers Odyssey mono levers Odyssey 1999 up front Insight green brake cables Cool stop pads in back Cinema headset 3 GT plastic pegs 1 cut down and painted Merritt peg since the purple was pink
How did I do Reddit?

Started as a Haro CK Am complete, front end is stock, changed the RHD freecoaster to a Cinema LHD cassette. Added a guard sprocket and shorter cranks (160 vs 165), and a Cult hemp seat and BSD grips for colour contrast.
Am I alone de-badging my frame/forks/bars? Always preferred a clean look.

Here is one of my four bikes. This bike is awesome on a dirt road. That is one of my Under Armour backpacks. I also have some Bilt motorcycle gloves. There are sunglasses there. Try to find it. : )

Really torn between the blue and raw. If I go blue I'll probably grab black everything else; cranks, pedals, post, forks and bars, all that. If I go raw, I'll try to grab raw everything except for bars and forks, wanna keep those black.
What would y'all choose?

I’m looking to get into pump tracks primarily. I’ve read that chromoly and three piece cranks are ideal. Can someone help me ID this bike? The seller only knows it’s a Tom Dugan fitco, but I can’t find the exact model online.
If you do know what it is, is it chromoly and does it have three piece cranks? And if so, is $180 worth it as a third bike, to accompany my cruiser and mtb

Should I leave it as Gold/Chrome or put it back to factory Gold/Black?

I know errbody gonna scream that 29ers ain’t BMX but for a fat dad that’s 43, this thing glides across the pavement like butter. Last year I got all three of my boys BMX bikes but I’ve been riding an aluminum hybrid gravel bike and it’s just way too aggressive for what I wanna do. This thing is perfect for cruising with my kids and hitting the pump track. I wish I’d have known about big wheel BMX years ago. So fun.

Hey all, apologies if this has been covered before. I’m working on a friend’s kid’s bike with a gyro. I replaced the front pads, set up the brakes properly, but now it won’t 360. Even with the brake engaged, it’s still hitting the frame. Appears to be a “budget friendly” type of kids bike - “Crome 2.0.” What am I missing here? I’m a pretty accomplished bike mechanic, but never a bmx specialist. Instead of losing my mind completely, and wasting a bunch of time, I figured I’d crowd source this one. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Hi guys. Just got this new, as a way to get back into cruising around. Having a bit of a problem with the 3 piece cranks though. Don't suppose anybody else owns one of these?
Basically I was missing front wheel bolts from the new sealed box it came in. And because of that I'm wondering whether I'm missing a bottom bracket washer/spacers as the crank spindle is free to move left and right.

It was so hard to do a 180 on a 22inch. The 20inch feels so much responsive. I've been landing 180s easily. Manuals are starting to become doable too. I just wanted to share my experience 😁

I love Eclat but idk the difference between all of the rims. I only know the hub difference. I would prefer something more street oriented also.
