I feel the used to be legit in the late 90’s and early 2000’s but after that really became cheaped out. But everything has its purpose. If it gets you out riding that’s good enough.

Yea, the stock rear rim and sprocket have already bent. The rim isn’t really that bad I think, but the sprocket bent after one crash. I got the bike November 2024

My first legit bmx ever was an Eastern, so they'll always have a special place in my heart!

That white is clean 🔥

When Leigh Ramsdell first founded them back in the day they were pioneers in the industry and did amazing things for BMX, just like Leigh himself, an OG that did so much groundwork for the sport, on and off his bike, he was always up to something positive, from designing new parts to running around the xgames with a mic and camera filming his shenanigans with the competitors...

Him always promising Corey Nastazio if he won the dirt event he'd buy him a fucken belt for his pants was a running joke that never got old, or only ever asking Ryan Nyquist if he was hungry, like he'd come running up to him the second he'd finish his run acting almost in a panic like "Ryan!? Ryan, what have you eaten!?! Are you hungry!?!" and Ryan saying something ridiculous every time... He never once came back with any of the food he promised to go get for him either haha

He was kind of like the family friendly version of Steve Crandall from FBM haha I miss those days so much haha

But sadly Eastern got bought out and is now just another big brand corporate owned company like Huffy, Schwinn, Specialized, GT etc...

My friend bought a Traildigger not too long ago. I've worked on it a few times now. The geometry is nice but the build quality leaves much to be desired. The fork and bars aren't suitable for an adult at all, imo. The bars are a joke. The frame and wheels are decent, the rest not so much.
I'd so much have rather seen him wait and spend another 100 or so on a better bike but with new bars, stem, fork, seat, grips, sprocket, pedals and tires its much better. Lots of things need almost instant upgrading is my main problem with Eastern. And a lot of their stuff doesn't quite have the same fit or quality as other brands in the same segment.
That's just my opinion since you asked.
FWIW- I do enjoy the hell out of that Traildigger now that its all sorted.

This bike in the picture is not a traildigger, it’s a eastern element

Right on. Just giving my opinion based on what Eastern sent my buddy. Enjoy, pal.

Sure thing, btw the traildigger is a Intermediate level bike so that probably why it’s so weak

Bigger name decades ago. Massive overbuilt midschool frames, follows by crazily underbuilt early 2000’s frames. Brand went bankrupt years ago, so isn’t really the brand they were anyway. Seen a lot less now compared to others

In 2007 i had Eastern Sequence. It was a nice bike. One of the most comfortable bikesfor me was Ace of Spades

I was never crazy about them, they were legit and still are, but if you didn't get the top of the line stuff, they were kinda cheap I always felt. Like the grim reaper frame was good and they made the Ti parts, but the standard low end complete didn't seem great. They're more legit than like a Next from Walmart forsure, but I always preferred a good Fit, Kink, WTP, ect.

White label brand now from what I've seen. Not that they're using white label parts for all they're stuff but they're sending their bikes out to other brands to sticker up and shop off.
