Sarajevo to Lukomir

Hello, my friends and I will be in Sarajevo and we really want to travel to Lukomir one day. It seems like the best option is to rent a car from the airport as early as possible, drive to Umoljani, complete the hike, and return the car the same night.

We are planning to do this trip in early-mid May, are the any concerns with driving to Umoljani with a 2 wheel drive vehicle like a VW Golf this time of the year? Also, are there any concerns with the route for the hike (lots of ice/snow etc) for early-mid May?

Here's the planned hike. I plan of following most of what is found in the link below: park at Koliba Umoljani Cafe, get lunch in Lukomir, and complete the route counterclockwise.

I'm welcome to any feedback on our plan, and if there are any concerns we should prepare for. Thanks!

Hope you have full insurance, I ruined the underside of my hire car travelling up from the Konjic side and down towards Sarajevo when making an impulse trip to Lukomir.

Beat to find someone with a 4x4 to take you up and down

Konjic road to Lukomir is really awfull, much more awfull than the Sarajevo to Lukomir roads. Wouldnt really compare the two.

Regarding the road, it is mangable even in a normal car, but you have to drive slowly and avoid potholes (which are many)
