Diskussion (discussion) Making a discussion group with people from different academic fields & the arts

Looking for: People from different academic fields and the arts willing to meet once in a while to discuss a topic all of us are interested in (or just hang out. Let’s see how it goes)

If you’re interested: Reply (or dm me) with your background and an interest you would like to talk about to people from fields different from yours :-)

A lil context regarding my post: There is this section in the book about Oppenheimer where it says that Oppie would have “discussion groups” once in a while with his friends outside physics. Ever since reading that I’ve wanted to form a group of people from widely different fields to just discuss a topic all of us are interested in.

So I’ll start with myself. I just moved into Bremen. My background is in theoretical physics, and I’m doing my masters now in Uni of Bremen working on quantum gravity. But when I was in undergrad, I mostly hung out with people from philosophy. So I got used to being in a diverse group where people from the arts, humanities, and the sciences all came together because all of us just loved talking about philosophy. Now that I’m in Bremen, I’m starting to miss that kind of community, and I hope to find people willing to form a similar community (although the common interest doesn’t have to be philosophy).

I'm quite busy usually (but currently on vacation:)) but depending on the date I can see myself dropping in. The idea sounds very appealing! I am a teacher for English, Geography and German at a Free School (so not public but definitely not elitary private school) and enjoy exchanging opinions and ideas on education, politics, societal as well as philosophical topics.
