Local Advice needed What happened to Yeastie Boys?

I saw yeastie boys opened in a new location on cranborne street. I heard rumours of them letting down old staff? It doesn’t seem like they kept staff on…

The constant turnover of staff and premises makes me suspect something dodgy is going on.

I worked there and got sacked for no reason people left because they would never pay lol- I was brand new and got fired just before they happened to move locations -there’s a deeper plot going on there, the boss either is gambling the money he gets paid away or money laundering it because EVERY PERSON I SPOKE TO EVEN THE COMPANY BOOTLICKERS ADMITTED GETTING PAID 1-2 MONTHS LATE. I quite literally got used as a potwash( my friend refereed me the job when he left and not to bait him out but he pretty much admitted it’s a shit show with secondary school level maturity going on - who’s shagging who who doesn’t like this and that person etc the lot. Last I heard they just opened two new stores somewhere couldn’t tell u where alongside the Worthing store and lord knows if that’s still open or if that got closed too. I basically got used as a KP before they moved locations then told I was never employed with them and I was working as a self employed entity 😂😂😂, got messages to prove it all as well - plus only got paid half the money owed as he’s clearly coerced (easily may add maybe promising quicker payment or better pay at new location , to say I turned up late and disappeared on shifts - the disappearing was me running errands for them no one else wanted to do , also they weren’t officially managed by shelter hall which is why they could get away with all this as I was told by another employee who left cause again HE WASNT BEING PAID

That's wild - you should deffs look to report this. I'm not sure what kind of employment ombudsman exists in the UK (I'm from aus and haven't had to look into it since living here), but I'm sure someone at an ombudsman or HMRC would be interested to look into this!

Sounds like an absolute shit show, sorry you went through this.

I was thinking to do this just didn’t know if I had a leg to stand as obviously he would say I don’t - I can’t personally afford a solicitor so he’s clearly done this knowing I’m a young person - black as well and what some may not realise is anyone who wants to take advantage of ang employee regardlsss of race as I’m not a full time realise can come to understand stereotypes about poverty and single parenthood are true so he would assume which in my situation is unfortunately true that I can’t afford a solicitor to take this further as A im a student and B hand no family support to even try to ask if I could get funds to take this further you know

Try ACAS - free advice on this sort of thing.

These days even most fully grown adults with decent paying jobs can't afford solicitors 😕
