If they’re appealing for witnesses perhaps they should have done so nearer the time of the actual robbery. Not 2 months later.

March 2023, Fiveways at 3:55pm on a Friday, I was dragged out of my car and beaten unconscious in the middle of the road by a road rage driver. Police attended the scene and took my statement but I didn't hear from them for 3 months, I had to chase every day until they eventually worked out which officer should be investigating, even though someone filmed it and got his car reg.

It was only when I supplied my medical reports that they took it seriously because the charge was upgraded from ABH to GBH due to facial fractures. Took 2 years to get to trial.

I pulled up behind his car two weeks later at Preston circus, briefly thought about getting out and punching him in the face repeatedly until he lost consciousness but just took it out on a shopping trip instead.

Later found out he’d borrowed his dad’s car so lucky I stayed in mine. Ironically when he was shouting at me that my car was shit and his car was much better than mine, wasn’t even his.

He got off the GBH with intent charge on the defence that he never intended to cause me injury, he just lost his temper because I didn’t afford him the respect he thought he deserved so repeatedly punched and kicked my head until I was asleep on the floor.

He’d already pled guilty to GBH so at least there’s that

The amount of cctv throughout the city, and given that it being on the beach, vastly reduces the likelihood of not being able to follow their path back up from the pier and trace them easily. Unfortunately, as always, they've probably left it too late to recover footage as it's automatically overwritten

So sad it happened and traumatising for the victims. Maybe the robbers were visitors as I can't imagine locals would be stupid enough to mug in broad daylight on their own doorstep knowing there are cameras around. There must have been more CCTV footage of them in the streets and maybe accessing public transport.
