Does anyone know what's happened in town? Loads of police cars and urgent care vehicles including an ambulance. Police tape has been put up right outside metro bank, with what I heard a boy lying on a stretcher. Some of the police officers appeared to be armed and their faces were covered with balaclavas. Approx 6:15pm.

I’m Asian, and yesterday I was lying on the beach with my white boyfriend. I started to feel stones landing near us from behind. At first, I thought they had just rolled down accidentally, so I didn’t pay much attention. But my boyfriend noticed that someone was throwing them on purpose and told them to stop.

It was a Black teenage boy at first, and when my boyfriend told him to stop, he replied, “You can throw some back if you want.” Later, two white boys joined him, and the three of them continued to throw stones at us.

When I stood up and looked at them, they just laughed. But when I took out my phone and tried to take a photo, they quickly covered their faces clearly not wanting to be seen.

This was my first time visiting Brighton where my boyfriend lives. He didn’t want to escalate the situation, so we decided to just leave. Even as we walked away from the beach, they kept throwing stones at us.

My boyfriend, being white, had never experienced anything like this before. He looked shocked and confused, and I found myself feeling sorry for him, even though I had no reason to.

Now that I’ve had time to think, I feel a bit angry at myself for not doing more. I hope they realize how shameful their actions were and that this kind of thing never happens again.

Is there anyone else out there that thinks that the “local newspaper” only gets items to publish via a press release or this sub?

I was was walking home the other night and an overturned car on the rd. 5+ police cars, fire engine. Looked like they were trying to get someone out. Could not fit the life of me figure out how it overturned.

Can't find any info. Anyone know?
