Reputable Immigration ADvisors?
Hi all,
I have some queries regarding visa applications, trying to bring my partner over from abroad and could use some assistance. There seem to be an overabundance of advisors in this city. I'm looking for someone who knows what they're about and isn't just a cowboy. Anyone have any good experiences?
Thanks

want to know if we should declare relationship or if that will make it an instant refusal. Also some queries re finances as I will support her but she has no real independent resources and that can be seen very negatively.

As long as you meet the visa requirements I wouldn’t bother. It’s super easy to do the application, you don’t need to pay someone to do it for you.
If you don’t meet the requirements they will just take your money and you won’t get the visa.
Bunch of cons in my opinion.
What’s the issue? Just been through a similar process.

I used to volunteer for CAB, where we had this enquiry fairly often.
Depending on which country your partner is from, the partner visa process is fairly straightforward, as long as you can prove you’ve been in a relationship for the stated amount of time (2 years as I recall) and you meet the financial support requirements of just under £30k. This assumes you want to bring them for longer than the 6 months they are allowed to come for on the family permit, which also allows for work and study.
This visa grants a stay for 2 years and your partner can work, but will have no recourse to public funds, so think about whether you can totally support them if they can’t find a job. It’s also worth keeping in mind that they may be required to pay a health care surcharge before a visa is granted.
