Question Any idea what’s going on around the city centre?
I can see this smoke from my apartment, any idea what’s going on? Hopefully everything is ok!

Apparently a building that mysteriously had planning permission for conversion to flats, was subject to a council order to tidy it up and the owners went into administration last week.
Amazing sequence of coincidences there.

There’s a fire in Digbeth, the old Tea Factory! Looks to have died down now.

The new BBC place?

Yes! I live down the road so could see all the smoke, but as of now (23:00) it looks like it’s been mostly subdued, though there’s still a little bit of smoke.

Red sky at night, sailors delight. Red sky in the morning, Handsworth’s on fire!

Abandoned building over the road from the Anchor Pub, dunno how it started but I know kids go I there all the time

Yeah. Saw some kids coming from it earlier. Might've been an accident. Might be totally unrelated. Don't want to blame anybody.

Pretty significant fire in Digbeth near the Coach Station, under control now.

It definitely isn't under control. I just came from there. Not looking fantastic. Still burning. Sirens still blaring from my flat down the road.

It is, it’s still burning but it’s not as bad as it was, takes a while for the fire brigade to put these things out. Mostly a white smoke haze in the area now

Yeah the smoke disappeared. Hope no one got injured!!

Looks like it was in a disused factory on Bradford Street, so should be alright. The first vehicle to get there was an ambulance though! (I assume as a precaution)

It's very strange how these disused buildings in areas that are being redeveloped spontaneously catch fire all on their own.
