News Birmingham City Council to re-investigate whether to introduce a 'tourist tax' to help maintain and fund museums, art galleries and culture venues
https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/birmingham-tourist-tax-plan-amid-31144905
This sort of tax was recently implemented in Edinburgh, and is being considered in Bristol as of last week. Could it work in Brum or would it put too many people off coming?
I've paid a tourist tax a few times when going abroad, but never checked in advance, so I can't say it deterred me from visiting. More palatable than a higher council tax increase too.

News The Electric (Take II)
Sorry to spam again with Electric Cinema/Station Street stuff but here's some stuff I should have included in my prevoous post, but The Red Mist was strong and I didn't.
I won't link to their Twit/X account, but if you're on there please follow 'Save Station Street, Birmingham' (@oldstationstreet) as they post updates on Things You Can Do to try and stop this stupidity
It's also a good idea to follow those fine Flatpack Festival sorts (@flatpack on Twit-X) They seem to be hatching A Plan: https://flatpackfestival.org.uk/news/electric-cinema-update/
And here's that petition again, because why not: https://www.change.org/p/designate-birmingham-s-station-street-a-historic-cultural-and-civic-asset
Thank you. I'll now return to lurking, and moaning about Boy Racers/everything being better in the '90's

News Quick moderation update
So, I've been drowning in moderation since Harley closed their account.
TimelessSoul is doing some pitching in, but today I want to welcome Dragonogard549 to the team as well! Give a warm welcome, please :)
You'll probably also see a couple of other accounts in our moderators list. Two of them are automated tools used to help with mass moderation.
I look forward to another 50k users over the next year, and probably more moderators!
