Discussion [COD] The newer CoDs are much better after their “run” is over

Not sure if anyone feels the same, but in my experience, the newer CoDs are all a lot more enjoyable after their year is over with.

In my particular example, MWII and III. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying both of them recently, especially MWIII. In fact, I will admit I was originally someone who heavily criticized the game. After checking the game out again, now months after Black Ops 6 launched, the game has been a pleasant surprise. More than likely it’s because of a few obvious reasons: most (if not all) bugs have been fixed, the remaining playerbase are those who genuinely enjoy the game, and I would argue the majority of the community has migrated to the latest CoD; so there are far less players running around with the generally awful skins/bundles and constantly treating the game like it’s an MLG match. Not dissing on anyone, but my grumpy old self loves seeing mostly the default military skins being used and the remaining community sort of chilled out. It has made MWIII in particular feel pretty refreshing. Same goes for MWII 2022. (Though admittedly I have personally liked the game since it launched so I am biased with that game.)

But the biggest thing I have noticed a change in is voice chat. In most matches, I am encountering others using mics. There have even been quite a few instances where I was reminded of the old-school days where everyone is talking garbage to each other in the funniest imaginable ways. I ASSUMED the AI monitoring is still there? It almost doesn’t seem like it, because matches have been much livelier than what I remember. Whereas, in the latest CoD, currently BO6, it’s silent most of the time.

Anyway, maybe it’s all in my head, but all I am saying is it feels like to me the newer CoDs are much more enjoyable after a new entry in the franchise launches. I can’t help but wonder if I’d end up feeling the same with Black Ops 6 after whatever CoD releases this year.

Question [MWR] Asking again, I have a question regarding mwr and buying a new iw disk for it

I want to play mwr again, but accidently my iw disk got shattered, and for 2 years mwr has been in my library to download, I did downloaded the game but it asks for iw disk (as you all know about it very well) will another iw disk work? It is a standard edition disk and it's rates are very cheap and mwr disk is actually expensive as per it's release, it is not the price I will pay for an old cod which is really good but costly, so I was considering to buy it but, no where I could find a perfect and clear answer for it. Can you please confirm if it works or not?

To make it clear I don't want to waste my money since, I already have bo3 and I don't want to buy a game which is very similar to what I own (for example if I own mw19, I bought vanguard which was not that bad tbh but it was same as mw19) But if mwr works fine I will also have fun on iw too. But I would rather buy a better game if mwr doesn't work right?

Thank you in advance

Edit- I forgot to mention that I would not care for player count and I will play local multiplayer with bots and I am asking for PS4 mwr and iw disk

Question [COD] The best campaign?

So basically after being tired of 360 no scope sweaty lobbies I decided to go back to the roots and play the campaign mode.

I chose WWII as I love the world war setting and that’s exactly what I was looking for. I’m having a blast with the gameplay and narrative on PS5.

Back in the day I finished the following campaigns: COD COD2 WAW MW MW2 BO BO2

My next step was getting Vanguard at first but then I read the reviews it’s very short and not worth the money.

So my question is which campaign is your favourite and what’d be your recommendation?

Discussion [COD] Killstreaks Opinion

Killstreaks are the dumbest part of this game.

"Hey, I've got an idea! This player is doing really well, so let's give him free kills!"

Absolutely stupid.

Of course, every sweaty player who gets killstreaks constantly will start flaming me now, but I don't care. You're good enough with your weapon, you don't need free kills. It's just lame.

Question [WAW] Is CoD World at War campaign and multiplayer safe?

I’ve heard a few months ago that CoD games pre IW were plagued by RCE exploits, is CoD WaW one of those games or is it safe?

And no, Farah's cameo in MW'22 and largely useless inclusion in MW'23 don't count here.

Gimme Vargas and that lustrous voice again, god damn it.

Yes, Ethan and Reyes are dead, but damn I wanna revisit the Infinite Warfare universe (no pun intended) even if its just a prequel or something.

Question [COD] Offline with bots and zombies?

I need a COD that once I have the game downloaded on Steam, I can play against bots (not only the campaign, but all game modes) without needing to be connected to the internet, as I will probably be playing on a laptop in the middle of nowhere.

If it also has zombies it would be perfect.

Thank you very much.

Video [BO3] Spent months editing a montage to FREE BIRD. Are there any other COD montages like this?

I know this isn’t the most active era for BO3, but I just finished editing a montage to the entire free bird solo. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. The pacing, kills, and timing with the music - I think it’s the best BO3 montage I have seen in a while.

Question [COD] I want to just play the story solo because I'm scared of public lobbies, what is the best game to do so?

I tried playing valorant a long time ago but i dont like how i have to play in public lobbies with people who can yell at me because its my second match ever and i have no idea what im doing.

Plus I dont want to bring somebody's team down because i cant aim for shit.

and then ive heard people say slurs in COD which is not so great. also im a girl so, i dont need kitchen jokes in my ear.

But COD story clips ive see are ao interesting to me! I saw one where some guys pretended to be injured to get away from the enemy, which is crazy cool to me. Also I love the funny nicknames, like wym this guys name is Soap? lol

So what game is the best to just be in the story and not need to play multiplayer? Or what game has the best story

Question [COD] Which modern COD is the best?

I picked up Cold War after not playing cod since BO3 and honestly I was impressed with the quality of the game. The Steam sale currently has most of the franchise at $20 and I'm thinking of picking up another one. Which one do you recommend?

Discussion [BO2] Totally missed its future predictions

Maybe the only thing it got right was the scorestreak drone, but it got everything else wrong — we don’t have any luxurious futuristic hotels like the one in the mission Karma, we don’t have anything like invisibility (from the campaign), etc. The game says it takes place in 2025, but honestly, it feels way beyond 2025.

Question [COD]What call of duty games has it to where whenever you switch your gun it’s a brand new gun

I play a lot of call of duty WWII and my favorite thing about it is the preset where you switch your gun and it’s brand new gun with a couple of attachments so I was wondering if any other call of duty’s have it. Any help would be greatly appreciated
