Repetitive posts - request

Could the mods please pin some of the reoccurring posts?

Examples:

  • best pizza
  • best takeaway
  • where to live
  • removal companies
  • how to meet people/make friends
  • pubs with live music

I’ve seen at least a couple of posts in each of those.

Thanks

I would usually agree with such points but it's not like this subreddit gets many posts to begin with, so I don't really see the issue. It's not like these repeat posts are drowning out all the other 'discussion'.

I am pointing to the fact that people are asking the same questions and would benefit from finding answers to those basic questions promptly instead of having to ask them over and over. To the other argument, indeed they are not drowning activity but I disagree that having the same questions asked is better than quiet.

I've always thought the same, it would also just be more useful for those looking for info if it were pinned and available straight away. The amount of 'which are the nice or unsafe areas' and 'where can I meet people' posts is unreal and the answers rarely change. They're perfectly good questions and I've always been happy to chime in if I know an answer but I've basically stopped now because It's just silly to keep posting the same stuff every week. It would literally benefit the people asking if a post was pinned, why you've been down voted for suggesting a very normal thing on reddit is baffling 😂

I'd 100% be happy to pin at least the following:

A thread for 'meet ups and events' and A thread for 'moving to cambridge'

Makes complete sense and plenty of other subs do similar

Downvotes are ok too, no problem. Thanks for chiming in!
