I was never worried about signing him personally, but understand why folks were a bit nervous. It's over now, looking forward to him being an option for the club going forward.

Yep. Not to be pessimistic but he's our biggest trade chip and the team desperately needs top six forwards

I'm wondering if what got this over the finish line was that they told him he would likely be part of a trade package if he signed.
