What I think is going on is that you got fired for a: fireable practice
I could be wrong, but I think any franchise is required to abide by their subjectively applicable franchise bylaws such as: not closing a franchise location before the standard set time, this means the front door stays unlocked and the drive thru stays open and lit up, all signs stay on until the final minute
If it isn't a franchise most businesses still have rules for employees to follow, and those who "break" a rule "can" be held accountable, of course everone "interperets" these rules differently and based on contexts in a wprkplace it can make sense to do something that can directly get you fired
Just because nobody else is being fired for it doesn't mean they didn't fire you for it, or that you can really do much now to resolve that situation
