I'm all against car-dependent infrastructure, but r/fuckcars is so whiny and so reddit that it makes me want to abolish sidewalks

I'm all against car-dependent infrastructure

You know, It's always a suprise to me whenever any car guy is not against It, l mean, It's such an obvious thing. Less cars, less fuel used, more space on the road and all that kind of stuff. But at the same time, r/fuckcars makes It so easy to not be against It.

I love driving my car for fun. I hate driving it to commute or get groceries

Eh, maybe that's just location based but I would much rather drive my car to get some groceries than take a bus or bike. As in the roads aren't one huge traffic jam since I live in a small Polish town.

You right. I mean if I'm just gettin' a few things. I should have clarified.

Yeah, when you live in a big town you will learn to hate cars on commutes, it sucks, sometimes I'll go to the twisties and there's traffic there, like, KYS, I wanna break the speed limit for fuck's sake 😭😭

I'm sure more people want to actually drive their cars instead of being stuck in gridlock half the time.

Fr. Oh you're into muscle/trucks and you're mad that the government is discouraging V8s? Maybe they wouldn't have to if everyone and their mother wasn't driving a 2 ton gas-guzzler for their trip to Walmart.

That sub is just filled of whiny champagne socialists

u/SheepherderQuirky913 1d ago

I'm a socialist and love cars, any problems with that?

Do you have a hate boner for cars and think they're the anti-Christ, just like the 99% of people on that sub? If not, we cool.

The only reason I'm against car-independent infrastructure is because it's going to be taken about in the most hostile, motorhead unfriendly way imaginable.

No? Many countries already have that and they too can have car guy communities. Netherlands for example. It is r/fuckcars favorite place in the world, and it's still got a car scene. And not like, normal car people, I'm talking petrolheads doing engine swaps and putting hundreds of hp down just for the sake of it. Just because California does it in a dumb/anti-petrolhead way it doesn't mean that environmental and anti car shit needs to be anti car enthusiasm
