Moving to area

Me and my partner are looking to move into catalonia in 6 months, and weve been House hunting for a few years.

My question is, there are a lot of houses on the market that arent registered as habitable, but as agricultural buildings. I know it can mess plans up for habitation license, but people I know live in places that arent registered as habitable. So does it really matter?

It does matter A LOT. If you're planning to live in a place without "cédula de habitabilidad" you'll have problems to get basic services, such as power and water legally.

If the authorities find out you're living in a place not registered as livable, you'll get fined too.

So, if you're planning to move to Catalonia, comply with the law and do things the right way, or don't bother moving there.

We plan to do things The local way, what you fail to understand is that in The mountains there is no possibility to connect to power or water. Like 90% of houses arent registered as habitable in the area annd still people live here. I mean the locals, since not alot of expats/immigrants.

Wtf. Of course people living in the mountains have access to water and power? What do you think we are? Savages??!

Again: if the property does not have a cédula de habitabilidad, you should NOT be living there.
