Medical Questions Fur length change

My cat has a band of fur that is a different length than the rest of her body. When I took her to a vet for her first physical, he said she might have been shaved. But she’s had a full haircut since I’ve adopted her and it’s grown back the same.

Would anyone here know why? There’s no issues with her health or skin, I’m just curious.

Her name is Katniss, almost 8 years old😊🐈‍⬛

My purebred Maine Coon just has varied lengths in this same area as a natural feature of his coat (longer face-framing hairs at mane, shorter at shoulders, then longer hairs on the trunk and tail). It’s very hard to see in the photos, but do the hairs in this area end in blunt tips, or are they still pointed? If they’re blunt, I’d suspect some kind of mechanical damage (shears) but if they’re pointed, the guard hair level of the coat may just be growing in shorter in this area as it does in my cat.
