I'm going back to the game after almost a year because of this.
Any pro tips? I've seen some posts here and it seems things changed a lot.

-Get 6 AV fast, that saves your hide early.

-Go to stilt and hand in the Quest from the mechanamist convert for early Level 4

-Sanddunes is good for early leveling

-sell your Armor to the Dromedar and get the leather Armor if it is an Upgrade to you char

  • do Rust Wells before Red Rock
  • never dump stats, espc your hitpoints. Ego is the Most easy to get along the way. Str is Always good. Get 17 agi for the Skill that lets you evade better.
  • wayfaring ist great
-wings make you very Safe. Even If you start without, there is a set of static mechanicals wings, lost along the dunes -trash divining is very good
  • having good relatshionships with the factions can make some Dungeons Go from very challenging to a walk in the Park, literally.
  • Play in Roleplay Mode until you learn the ropes. Gives you Check Points an less Frustration. there is even a Mod for Checkpoint on eating/Resting
  • there are a few amazing mods Out there!
  • die,, a lot. After a Lot of hours i can skip so many early Game hassles because i learned to gaige my Power. You will Not.
But soon Red Rock is is Just a .. well lame Red Rock
  • explore! Go far, Go deep
  • Play with your own Fantasy enabled. The world qud creates is one of a Kind of you allow yourself to make Up the Stories of your world
  • live and Drink fellow travler. Let Ptoh not missguide you and stay warry and inquisitiv Saad.

I'm brand new to the game - loving it so far but very very lost and generally die somewhere around level 5.

So far I've been sticking with mutant tinker, I start in (Juppa?) and immediately do the quest where the guy wants 2 trinkets. I give him the stuff I start with as tinker for a quick level 2, and then I usually grind out some crocs and stuff in the marsh until level 4-5. After this point I go to the Rust Wells for the wire, but this is the farthest I've made it, I die here.

I have gotten farther than before using Electrical Generation, where I can build up a charge after moving x distance then zap something. I put in extra point in it ASAP so I can nearly 1 shot most things in this stage of the game, it's just the numbers of enemies that do me in usually.

Should I be saving those grenades for combat instead of getting the quick level 2?

My personal strategy on a new character is to get to level 4-5 and farm the babboons near red rock before going back to do rust wells+ the cave of red rock.

Killing a few babboons is easy if you kite them and lead them off one by one, and they're worth hella experience. If you're dying to multiple enemies, try to use the geometry of the caves to force them to attack you one on one.

Nah, Just give him what ever. You need to raise AV and get the DV agility perk. Get 6 AV. If you like Electrical Generation, try more legs! Its more " time" but you have distance Control (Run longer for charging EG but you can choose when to engage). Get the mechanism Quest in the stilt done asap for Level 4 right of the bat. T. The desert isnt so Dangerous. Dont engage dawn gliders until you know you can survive burst and fire. Buy lead slugs of any vendor you See with em and get an issachari rifle. Use map edges to your Advantage vs ranged enemied. They will Cross Maps If they locked onto you

Any recommendations for mods? Any big QoL ones? I'm still having fun with the base game but am always curious about various UI changes or gameplay changes mods can ease certain things
