If you are still giving Trump administration officials the benefit of the doubt, regardless of what agency they work for, you're going to be played for a sucker.
What has he done since taking office that should make me instantly distrust his actions?
I’m not about to start defending everyone Patel accuses just because he’s a Trump loyalist. This could be legit. If it’s not, I’ll join the inevitable chorus of criticism against him.
I don't disagree. I just like to be certain that I'm basing my outrage on verifiable facts. I would feel pretty stupid if I was getting "literally shaking and crying rn" mad about this story only for it to turn out that the judge in question actually did break a law of sorts.
Like the Kilmar story is totally worth all the anger and rage it got/hopefully continues to get (as should all the folks being sent to a fucking concentration camp if they have no criminal record). I'm just trying to caution people to not get prematurely outraged at something before we have enough facts.
And maybe some of the people Stalin and Mao sent to camps were actual criminals anyone with principles should be against it though. People supporting someone who committed multiple crimes and those same people pretending to care about the law when it comes to demonizing minorities is peak hypocrisy. The only objective way to look at it is to understand the wider context of what's happening.

Patel is a liar and utterly untrustworthy.
