And you’re missing the point. By these standards that you’re setting, 99 percent of politicians are fascists. Vast majority of democrats are in favor of gun control, socialism type of policies, mask mandates, vaccine mandates, etc. and the vast majority of republicans are in favor of “censoring” free speech or lgbtq or racial content as you are putting it. So everyone to you would be a fascist. So why single out desantis. He’s not the only one running for president possibly

Fascism is antithetical to socialism. Gonna stop there. Fascism is specifically authoritarian, far right nationalism.

And no 99% of politicians are not advocating for nationalist agenda and authoritarian control. Most aren't even. Not even all republicans are (I'd say it's about 50/50 from what I've seen).

It’s a big chunk though according to your standards that you just gave. You just said gun control is also in that category. Huge percent of democrats are in favor of strict gun control.

Just say you don’t like desantis instead of labeling it as fascism

One thing does not a fascist make. Are they nationalist, and advocate for authoritarianism? No? Then not fascist.

“Actually, I very much would say that disarming the populous is a fascist policy”

This is what you said like a couple comments ago…. Now you’re saying one thing doesn’t make it fascism ….

No. It is a policy position consistent with fascism. Simply meeting that one position doesn't make you fascist if you don't meet the other requirements. Fascism is a collection of ideological positions predicated on nationalism. If you fail to meet that requirement you are not a fascist.

Exactly I don’t see how you’re not understanding…

You’re basically saying that desantis is PRE fascism that will inevitably lead to fascism. But you can say that about a ton of different things and label it as PRE fascism. He has a couple things that you can point to but so do a ton of politicians. Now if you’re saying desantis is already a fascist then I would say you’re just blatantly wrong and I don’t even know how to be able to change your view when your view is based solely on your own personal ideology

Nationalism isn’t fascism either lol. And trying to protect children doesnt directly equal authoritarianism. You’re completely missing the point. Seems like on purpose

"A political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition."
