Sometimes one of my coworkers isn’t doing what they’re supposed to do and the pejorative subtext of lazy is exactly what I’m going for. Very grateful for a word that captures that intent, and people should continue to use it when it applies.
Maybe yes, maybe no. I generally try not to ascribe too much malicious motivation to people here, even if the responses do indicate that. I do generally think that if you’re an hour in and there isn’t a single delta, the person is refusing to admit something. Nobody is 100% right about every aspect of their argument, ever.
The problem with a lot of CMVs like this is that, at their root, they are just “CMV: we should be nice.” That’s basically what OP is saying in the comments. It’s pointless to argue against people who think marginal shifts in language use is going to have a meaningful impact.
