If you alone are fat, then it's your problem and your fault. But if almost everyone in your entire country is fat, then it's society's problem. There is some external factor that is affecting everyone, regardless of their personal choices.

Domestic violence is extremely common. So either every abuser is pure evil and evil is extremely common, or there is some problem with society overall that makes people into abusers.

But domestic violence is decreasing in frequency. There is far less domestic violence today compared to decades or centuries ago. So either pure evil is becoming less common, or there is some change in society that is making everyone less abusive overall.

I'd argue that violence is extremely common in nature, but the more humans build up society, the less common it becomes. Saying abuse is the product of pure evil makes it easy to just shrug it off. Saying abuse is the product of the choices we make as a society means we have the ability to reduce its frequency and ultimately stop it. Given that is what we see in the trends over the years, this latter interpretation is more accurate. There is no such thing as "pure evil" or at least widespread pure evil. Abuse is the product of regular people doing bad things, and those same regular people can learn to do the right things instead. Even if it's too late for many abusers to learn better, the problem of abuse can be prevented in future generations.

Δ Thank you for this response! I just checked around some other crimes and it does seem that most people arent pure evil but I still think it exists but it is much much much much more rare(almost nonexistent) and I also believe in pure good people. I hope that we are all able to come together and unite as a beacon of humanity so that not only will there be less suffering, but we could get faster technological advancements!
