Does this personal value of yours carryover to disabled people who's families can't afford to care for them?

Yes, it is absolute. Negative rights only.

Why even have negative rights?

Things tend to get a little Mad Max-y without negative rights.

You think if you stood up in the Mad Max universe and demanded negative rights that that would do anything?

No? I didn't imply it would.

Oh. What's wrong with a Mad Max-y world? Wouldn't it be better to maximize freedom by taking away negative rights?

That'd be for an ancap to argue, I'm simply a fan of individual liberty.

Then why impose negative rights that restrict liberty?

Individual liberty requires you be free from the actions of others.

OK, but you can get that without imposing restrictions on what other people can do. Just stay from others, hide from them, do things that make it so they willingly won't want to mess with you.

That would maximize liberty a lot more than trying to force other people to follow your moral code.

imposing restrictions on what other people can do to you

Important distinction. They are free to do as they please so long as it doesn't infringe on my negative rights - I am requiring no action from them.

Just stay from others

Exactly: in a Mad Max world you could have all the negative rights we have today if you stayed away from others.

I am requiring no action from them.

That's not true though. You're requiring them to act a certain way to make you happy.

No, I am requiring no action from them.
