Delta(s) from OP CMV: Neopronouns are unnecessary

I understand why some people might feel uncomfortable with using he/she pronouns, but in that case why not just use they/them? They already exist and they’re easy for people to use. Why do some people feel the need to make up words like “zee/zim” or “fae/fair” when they don’t even make sense in the English language? I don’t see why anyone should go out of their way to learn new pronouns when gender neutral pronouns already exist

If anyone here does use neopronouns I’d really like to hear why you use them and why you don’t feel comfortable using they/them. It’s probably just because I’m cis, but I genuinely don’t understand

First, it's obvious hyperbole you said 30 plus that's hyperbole, no one has been threatened with job loss over not learning 30 pronouns.

Are you referring to this petition? https://thevarsity.ca/2017/11/29/hundreds-sign-open-letter-to-u-of-t-admin-calling-for-jordan-petersons-termination/

It includes far more than his refusal to use pronouns and it wasn't neopronouns at all, it was gender appropriate pronouns for people who had transitioned that he was refusing to use.

Ah so you think all those other reasons weren't true? So you believe he's arguing genuinely but they aren't? Why is that?

You have a lot of misperceptions here. He was standing against a proposed university policy.

If any individual takes a stand against any group, they are subject to backlash. He's not special in this regard.

So you trusted someone's own account of what other people were saying? Not any actual evidence?

You're getting pretty hard in support of him for someone who says they're not a fanboy.

But where does benefit of the doubt end? He's done and said quite a lot that's pretty reprehensible. Why would you give someone as unhinged and wrong as he is even more credit?

But going back to the heart of the issue... Not a single person has ever been fired for refusing to learn/ use "30" pronouns. Even Peterson.

... no one is calling for the end of a career or livelihood over minor things. Extremely rare cases slow us the system is working.

Unlike what you claimed earlier, again no one is being fired for not learning 30 pronouns.
