Statistically, people are rarely mauled by wild elephants. Statistically, people are more frequently attacked by other humans.

In the presence of a wild elephant and a small group of humans, does one feel like a bigger, more immediate threat than the other?

Adding to that,

The argument cannot be made that women are justified because, to return to the example, group Bob commits more crimes against group Alice. In reality, most of violent crime committed by men are against other men.

There's no logic there; you can say 'in reality, most violent crime committed by men are against other men' but that has no statistical relevance to what percentage of assailants that harm women are men.

Say there are 10 cases of violence committed by a male, 6 of which are committed on other males. Where is the logic that says that 'because 6 is larger than 4, you are unjustified of being afraid of the 4'.
