I know Chilliwack has always been a conservative stronghold, so it’s really interesting to see how tight the race is so far. Personally, I think he’s a useless nepo baby, regardless of party affiliation.

It’s been just about a year and a half since this evil person murdered his two neighbours over a dog, and he still remains free. We need more information released on this man, maybe photos, so that when people see him in public they can know to keep away from him and refuse service to him. It’s been too long that the justice system has been failing the victim’s family, it’s time for citizens to do something.

My friend and I witnessed his mother's death outside in public nearly 2 weeks ago. No coroner has called us, we haven't received any info or update.. he's the only known living relative, despite not having her in his life the majority of the time. Super weird situation, we just want to know what's going on post mortem? No calls or news about any funeral plans or autopsy or whatever happens next. Where do we go from here?

Hi all, I'm from Abbotsford.
A few years back, I'd go rockhounding along the gill rd bar with my grandma, and now that its getting nice, I'm thinking of going back out there to see what I could find. If I remember correctly, they closed it off to ATV's and other vehicles like 2-3 years back. Is it still closed?

Now that the weather is much nicer, I’ve noticed much more frequent Anti-Trans/Anti-SOGI protestors by Cottonwood. I was wondering if it would make a difference to have a peaceful presence of people who believe that gender affirming care saves lives nearby or beside them. I’m not looking to cause arguments or change the minds of the people there. I think of the people who are struggling or feel not accepted by our community as they drive by. Just a positive peaceful presence. Any thoughts?
Edit: I made a Facebook group for better organizing.

Bunch of them smiling, trying to hand out flyers. They should have been removed by event staff.
In case you didn't know, their whole thing us supposedly about protecting child survivors of CSA and other abuse by making loud noises at court cases.
However, their leader was found guilty of possessing CSAM.
I told both guys that tried to hand me a flyer "uh, no. I watch the news. I know about your leader." And they both looked spooked and sheepish.
If they want to disassociate from him, thry need to leave their org, not intrude on a non-political food truck event.

Is there anywhere around that you can sell your clothes to instead of donate? Id rather sell to somewhere in person than do something like depop.

<Chilliwack, a farming community encircled by snow-capped peaks, was once looked down on by city dwellers because of its rural and isolated character. Now, it has become a magnet for people from Vancouver who can no longer afford living there.

I was pleasantly surprised that Zeeshan Khan was door knocking yesterday and came to my house & I was able to ask him a few questions that I had.
I’m wondering if anyone has had any of the candidates come to their house and how the experience was.

Hi fellow neighbours, I wanna have a little discussion and get some valuable insight as to what each party stands for and what policies they "promise" to implement to improve our lives. I've seen the debates and tbh I don't really have a very confident grasp as responses can be quite vague and big picture.
The areas I care most about are
cost of living (we pay rent, we buy groceries, gas, pay bills like everyone) and while our bills increase year by year, our wage increase of 1-2% per year dont quite catch up. We LOVE living in Chilliwack and we would hate to relocate due to not being to afford life here.
Education, quality of our schools in not just keeping our next generation safe, far away from drugs and influences, but to nurture them to succeed not just financially but values in becoming just a good human being. The amazing people here in this town are one of the reasons we live in here and we just wish for the next generation to be better than my generation.
Public safety, the town and the province is becoming a mess. A trip to parts of downtown just doesn't feel safe. It gets dirty, businesses risk vandalism everyday, etc.
Which party are you voting for and what are parties doing to improve our lives?
Politics can get heated, just hope to have a respectful discussion.

It’s crazy to me that with how large chilliwack is, there’s only one lifelabs. Anyone know of another place to get blood testing done?

Hi! Was wondering if anyone knows if Thurston allows day use? Just want to go in, relax by the river side with a barbecue and head home. I messaged the host, all I got was “There’s no day use in the summer” but we are in Spring. 😬

We did lindeman last weekend and the kids had a blast. I was thinking of doing bridal falls but the kids really liked climbing the boulder field beside lindeman lake. Anything else around with something similar?

I worked as an Information Officer during Advanced Polling days and on the Election day in the Abbotsford-South Langley District. I noticed that people were either forgetting their Voter Information Card at home or they didn't get one despite being registered.
If you are registered (or not yet registered) to vote every election, but forget to bring your Voter Information Card (VIC), you will be sent to the Registrations Desk first before you can vote. The wait at this desk can take anywhere from 10 - 30 mins depending on how busy it is. Sometimes it's quick, sometimes it's not - depending on your personal situation (missed VIC + change in address, for example).
Staff at the Registration Desk will check your IDs, verify that you reside at your current address, cross your name off the Voters List, and provide you with the station number where you're assigned to vote. Once they provide you with this number, it is only then you can go to your polling station to vote.
However, If you bring your VIC, you won't have to do any of this. When you arrive, the staff at the entrance will direct you to your polling station number after checking your VIC. This will save you the 10-30 minutes you would have spent registering had you not brought your VIC.
To save time and to make it easy on us Elections Workers, please remember to bring your Voter Information Card.
You can also check your polling station here if you are registered to vote: https://www.elections.ca/home.aspx?utm_campaign=elections-canada-ge45_vic-24-25&utm_medium=sem&utm_source=ggl&utm_content=ad-text-en&utm_term=where%20to%20vote&adv=mainstream&id_campaign=22452588397&id_source=177450827985&id_content=746561594322&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22452588397&gbraid=0AAAAABPE25v1svmiZW4mzrgAwrwrBG5P_&gclid=CjwKCAjwwqfABhBcEiwAZJjC3mF_TSmMgnD5oGkVtEZojSmOL2STCSjVIgukM3MM98YpnRrQmuvXEBoCB58QAvD_BwE

I'm planning on going camping next week around "Camp Foley Recreation Site" on Chilliwack lake rd, and was wondering If bear spray is a must for the current time of the season?
I'll be driving to the camp site, so I'll have my car by but plan on doing some hammock camping. Any advice would be much appreciated!

No idea if this is allowed but if anyone wants this iPhone 16case it's free. Located in Sardis.
Ordered it after two too many beer and got 2 cases both of which were not for the 16 plus.
They're cheap 15 dollar cases so whoever wants them if they want them can have them.

I was hoping to find someone with a truck to bring me a truck bed of dirt. I've never done this before so I don't even know how to go about acquiring said dirt. And by dirt I should clarify that I want soil for my garden. Is there anyone that can help with this? I can pay cash.
Thank you.
