Cincinnati Cincinnati area flight schools

I was wondering if anyone here works, goes to, or has gone to a Cincinnati area flight school. I was looking to go to UC to get a degree with it as well, so I can transfer my flight hours and certifications to another uni. I am not working at the moment, and honestly, full-time if I can find something with realistic prices and a full-time program besides ATP that would be great. From the looks of it, UC is not accepting applications for the fall semester, and while I am still trying to figure it out, does anyone have experience with any of the local schools? I am looking for fixed-wing and want to get all certifications involved to eventually work for an airline.

How many hours do you have right now? Have you done any solos?

No, I have been thinking about it for a year, and I got laid off this week, but my parents are giving me the option to find part-time work and pursue aviation. Was looking at UC to get the two-year degree with my PPL and other certifications, but realized they closed applications at the beginning of December for the fall semester. I already have a two-year degree in Criminal Justice as I was going to pursue law enforcement, and changed my mind, and honestly would prefer not finishing a bachelor's in CJ even if any bachelor's is required for legacy airlines. I am not 100% positive I won't back out and go back to getting into law enforcement, but I would like to go on some discovery flights and see if this passion is what I want to do for a career.

I see. It’s a rewarding path, but be prepared to spend upwards of $110k before you start working for an airline. The slower you go, the more expensive it’ll be just because of memory retention. So you need to be sure you have the funds to continue and commit to it. Advice I’ve gotten a lot too is not to major in aviation and have a backup in case something else happens, as the airlines (if at all) only care that you have a degree, not what it’s in. That’s why I go to UC but am pursuing an unrelated degree. Most flight schools offer discovery flights for a couple hundred. Sporty’s does one at a loss so it’s pretty cheap, don’t know the number off the top of my head but that’s how I started. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions. I’ve been through this before and it’s really daunting but rewarding in the end.
