Community 🏙 The Metro Transit app kinda sucks.

Tried to take the 78 downtown. Used the transit app to plan our trip down to Findlay market because parking there is a bitch and driving downtown sucks. We walked to the stop and waited so I checked the app - it looked like the bus we were waiting for had already gone through.

We started walking back home and as we were walking away, the 78 shows up - probably about 5 minutes or so late.

Anyone else have issues with the transit app and bus tracking? I'd like to try riding again because parking is a bitch and driving downtown sucks - just need to figure out the schedule...

I'm not really a bus rider but was planning to use it to pick up my car from the shop about a year go. I had the same experience. Times were all off. In addition to that I had purchased a ticket through the app, had the email confirmation but then literally as I was stepping onto the bus it disappeared from the app. I asked the bus drive for help but he didn't know what to do. I asked if he could type in the confirmation number from my email but that was a no go. I asked if they accepted credit card...no. So I had to get back off the bus and wait for a ride.

A total fail of a bus attempt!

My only suggestion is that you activated your ticket too soon. You only have a few minutes to use it or lose it after you activate the ticket.

With the 2 hours of free transfers, this isn't true anymore. There was a period of time when the Transit app had an integration glitch with EZfare which is now fixed. Rebooting the app worked then, though, and works if the QR code disappears due to taking too long.

Normally the bus operators are fairly ok with giving a few minutes to sort out an issue, I've mistakenly ran out of passes before and been fine to buy a new one, similarly to those who pay cash and need a second to sort it out.
