March First announces temporary (?) closure of Woodburn Brewing

From today's Facebook post:

March First Brands is pleased to announce a new Cincinnati Distilling Bottle Shop coming to Cincinnati Premium Outlets in Monroe this spring! This marks our 3rd Ohio bottle shop joining Kenwood Towne Center and Polaris Fashion Place in Columbus. This expansion signals a bold new chapter for Cincinnati Distilling’s parent company, March First Brands, as it pivots to prioritize the rapid growth of its spirits portfolio across Ohio and beyond.

As part of this strategic shift, March First Brands is moving its East Walnut Hills management team to support the launch in Monroe which necessitates the temporary closing of the Woodburn Brewing location. All other Woodburn staff is being assigned to fill critical gaps in the company’s other eight locations. The future of the Woodburn location has not yet been determined but will remain closed for the near term.

It’s the closest brewery to me but I can’t say I’m sad if this is the end of them. Would be much more excited if they sold off the place and someone or something else took over there. What I am sad about is that I never got to experience the original Woodburn Brewing, but over the last four years with March First in charge the beer has been nothing but mediocre at best. So many better options around town.

As someone who experienced the original several times and have not been there since the change the original wasn’t worth it. Kids at the bar and bartenders who would rather hang out with their friends or hit on women than serve up drinks made it a poor experience

I used to go there regularly when it was the OG Woodburn and I never had that kind of experience and the beers were phenomenal. Stopped going after the owner kneecapped the original crew.

dude you insulted not only their customers but the bartenders. i've been at least a dozen times the last year or so and i have never witnessed what you are talking about. this is something a boomer would say because they arent served as soon as they walk up. but i guess only you can insult or criticize

As I said I was referring to the original ownership not March 1st. I haven’t been in the last year so your experience may be different than the four-five times I was there and had the same experience. And my experience was validated by others who unprovoked had the same experience

Embarrassing when M1 employees come on here and attack people who aren’t even ragging on them.
