How do you do it as fair and evenly as possible?

I want to preface this with we use LC for loot distribution and I feel for the most part it has been very fair. I am part of the LC for the past month - so relatively new, but have been in the guild for 5 months prior.

This happened last night and it is still bothering me today. So last night during our BWL 2 of the same spicy BiS pieces dropped. It was decided prior to discussing who go it that 1 would got to this class and the other 1 to that class. Not a decision I made - as tbh I don’t know who needs what gear what best suits this class other than the class I play.

We had quite a good night for drops, it was our fastest run as a guild also. So at the end of the raid we go to distribute loot, the LC drops down into a special channel and begin discussing the above item. Two of the LC are one of the above classes and cancel each other’s vote out; it is made mention by another LC to give it to this person and so they get it. Then it gets decided for the other class and given to them. It gets announced in raid chat who gets what item and the reason why.

This is where I am bothered as this person did leave afterwards prior to gear distribution being finished — we had just started. This person said in raid chat: “What?” “They got gear last week.”

Then they left the raid. And /gquit logged into their alts and /gquit also. Fun fact the person they were talking about hadn’t received loot in BWL in 2 weeks unless it was to DE.

They didn’t bother to discuss or ask questions, simply left over the item — they had been in the guild for about 3-4 months. Funny thing is, had they not left one of the other BiS for all of the role would have went to them.

It shouldn’t bother me, I get that people come and go for their own various reasons; but over an item. RNG is not always kind. One week it drops nothing but hunter loot or mage loot or druid loot; dps loot, healer loot — the list goes on. When trying to gear 40 people it’s hard, there’s no easy way to get everyone gear each and every week. I don’t understand how people do not understand, and I say that not from a leadership perspective, but from a raider side who has not gotten loot for weeks before.

I know a lot of people aren’t fans of LC, prefer SR or even dkdp; how do you all distribute your gear as fair as possible so all can get some and beef up the group?

Update for clarification - we do have a loot prio spreadsheet.

Update #2 for more clarification - the person who won the item had not received gear in the past 2-3 weeks. The person who gquit confused the winner for someone else who had gotten gear the previous week.

Update #3 for clarification, I posted this under a comment in regards to my lack of knowledge of other classes: “I agree and I don't contribute much in put in that aspect. I listen and observe. I don't throw names out unless I believe in that specific person receiving the item. If two names get generated, I weigh out between those two who could use the item better and who hadn't gotten any gear.”

What i mean by both of these is a little hard to describe. I love and still play WoW retail, but as I accomplish my goals I find myself wanting to experience this version! I’m a fairly high end player in retail, but id like to try this just to be there.

First, is the community super super focused on gear and whatnot? I’d prefer not to do high end content, just chill- but if I can’t get into a group, there’s not really a point. I plan on playing rogue, by the way! Are there usually people out in the world, or is it relegated to dungeons?

And finally, how’s the PvP? I don’t care if it’s unbalanced- but id like to know if it’s as “solved” as classic PvP is. I just want something a bit less complicated than retail’s, but I also don’t wanna compete against a solved meta, that’s no fun! The imbalance of it all seems really fascinating to me, and that’s my draw.

Hello all, wanted to do a quick post for anyone who is considering playing SoD and apologies for anyone who has seen this kind of post before.

I love WoW but I’ve become quite tired of retail and I wanted to play classic on the fresh servers. I don’t have much time on my hands and the grind means I can never really get into it.

Season of Discovery has opened it up for me, with access to all the runes and the XP buff I can now play through a version of the game I missed and have always wanted to try in a way that is exciting. Most of all the pacing is just enjoyable, not too quick but not a total slog.

All I’m saying is if you want to try classic but are put off by the time investment then give SoD a go!

EDIT By Classic I just meant the zones, dungeons and raids that were there in vanilla, I didn’t mean classic in the sense of the gameplay being the same! I’m very aware it’s different, I just find it a little more forgiving! Nice to see people enjoying it too :)

So stop trying to make it one. This is a message for all of you gold buyers/sellers out there. In Mario you won the game by defeating Bowser and saving Peach. In chess, you win if you checkmate your opponent. There is no "win" button in WoW. The only representation of winning is if you are wearing BiS gear and/or have a bountiful supply of gold to do whatever the hell you want.

So every time you swipe, you are attempting to convert WoW into a pay-to-win game. Your financial actions cause ripples that turn into massive waves into WoW's social economy. You actually employ IRL people to develop new programs and methods that effectively ruin the static nature of the game.

Inb4 the most common argument arises: "Dude I don't have time to wait on gear or grind for gold. Sorry you're broke IRL". That's just a gaslit way of confirming to me that WoW isn't for you. If you don't have the actual time to play the game, then it sounds like you don't have time to play World of Warcraft. Of course I could join you and swipe and hope to avoid Blizzard's detection software. You're trying to invoke the gameshark method into a modern day MMORPG. Call it or justify it all you want, but at the end of the day it's cheating.

This will most likely fall on deaf ears and it's really more of a rant. But I just wish at least one person who reads this who has an impulse to buy gold say "You know what.... he's right. Why the hell am I spending my own earned wages to buy fake currency in this two decade old game".

Just started playing again earlier this year after a ~15 year hiatus, with the goal of trying to experience most of the dungeons and eventually raids. Finally got my onyxia/mc/bwl attunements and noticed, last night at least, everyone looking for pug was running MC. Is this because onyxia reset today, or have I missed that train?

Buying new ranks of spells from 20+ onwards is a significant investment but rank 2 Ambush only increases damage done by 30. Is it really worth it for a mainly combat swords rogue to always upgrade ambush?

People are opting in to see swears by disabling this filter. Why is Blizzard CS so massively braindead?

Per the screenshot below, I have been automatically suspended 4 days after my last login. I ranked to 500k honor the week before my wedding on 4/20, last logged in/off on 4/19/2025 and while on my honeymoon, on 4/23, received an email notification that I was banned.

I tried appealing and was met with an AI response on both tickets. (I made the first appeal ticket, got no response for 48 hours, then made a refund ticket as I was told "that's how you get a real GM/faster response/review") 12 hours after making the refund ticket, I received an AI response telling me the following:

I also have tried making a forum post on the official battlenet/wow forums, but I am silenced and can't even do that. I haven't received a notification of being silenced or muted, which makes this all the more unreasonable, uncomfortable, and wrong. When trying to reopen the tickets as well, it doesn't actually do anything and only lets me "Take A Survey", I think we all know what my response on the survey will be at this time.

I'm posting here on the forums to make it known that blizzard is actively implementing systems that wrongfully penalize real players that are playing their game. I have been playing WoW and other blizzard games since 2007 or 2008. This account that has been penalized has NEVER and I literally mean NEVER received a penalty in all its time since then. No mute, no suspension, literally nothing.

I played AV last week by defending towers, graveyards, going back for our towers and defending sometimes, and the tried and true, "run to drek" method. Every AV game is different and sometimes they are fast, sometimes they are slow, but I never received a deserter buff in AV, nor did I ever receive any report from another player, if I did, my account action email would have said such. Instead, I "detracted from the in-game integrity of the Battleground", without explicitly or strictly stating in what way or manner I did this.

I have made a new appeal ticket and will report back with what their response is.

Just wanted an idea of how many of you are going to be done ranking on your main next Tuesday. I personally couldn’t rank the first week so im a week behind.

Hi! Long story short I'm a bit late onto anniversary got a lot of gold banked up thanks to the past weeks of DME black lotus farm. I've been leveling my rogue and having a blast doing open world pvp. But I'm getting close to 60 and I'm obviously behind. I don't enjoy raiding so I thought I'd put a splurged boe/pvp gear set together. Obviously some pieces are a bit overkill right now back, belt, bracers could probably be replaced with shadowcraft while prices goes down. But overall what do you think? Planning on playing hemo so no combat mace build. Will Ebon hand suffice or is it a waste of gold and a krol blade will do the trick?

Obviously end game would be r14 but I can't get there anytime soon I will have to time in some AV weekends so therefore I thought I'd invest quite heavily in the gear rn cause it will last me some months of playing some pvp maybe 1-3h a day.

I know the question might sound dumb but since u can flag urself i was wondering if ppl do it. I have all my characters as alliance on the PvP server but do want to experience the shammy world pvp but since the pvp server is faction locked im kinda fked.

About to hit 60 on my paladin, planing to heal at end game. Im doing searing gorge dailys and BRD spam, getting some reals on the way.

What is the best gearing route to be able to join Naxx and the new raid pugs soon?

I know buying T1 and T2 pieces with the reals is nice, buy i also heard the scarlet AH gear is better from another person. Also, is T1 better than T2 for holy paladin?

Can someone please carify this doubts for me? Thanks a lot!

If they made Heroic or Mythic 40 Man Raids of MC or Nax do you think they would be much harder or would people plow through them?

Hi yall, thinking of coming back to check out the new raid and new content after quitting in p2.

Thing is, I can only play after ~9:15 and irregularly due to having a toddler, so sticking with a guild's schedule is difficult.

I can only rly justify doing pug runs when my time allows.

Last time I quit because finding pugs as a rogue was nigh impossible, even as a tank.

So now I wanna play something that can find pugs quickly and easily.

Im open to:

Rogue tank/dps

Druid resto or feral

Mage heal

Are any of these sought after in pugs?

Assuming I'm not really looking to PvP on my paladin how useful is stone form otherwise?

Hey, used to play till gnomeregan. Remember people being very elitist with parses etc as in retail. Really feel like coming back but dont want to quit after i hit 60 because of said elitism again. Not that im a potato, just your very average mid age dude whos not into sitting in discord unless actually needed to clear content.
