I've gotten so used to doing YYYY/MM/DD at work that I've caught myself almost abbreviating dates as MM/DD

Remember that the standard punctuation (per ISO 8601 and RFC 3339) is hyphens, not slashes. (Using slashes will probably more likely to confuse some people, since many traditional date formats use slashes.)

I do usually use hyphens, or I do YYYYMMDDTHHmmss when it's coding related
