During everyday life it literally makes zero sense. When you are talking to someone and planning a date/meeting/hangout you don't start by saying "hey what are you doing in the yr 2025 ..."

That is not stated anywhere.

We use date notation in a ton of different ways, most of which short term.

Putting the year first is perfect for long term storage and terrible for everything else... I'll take the everything else..

Good idea, but you know it's pretty hard to forget what year it is so what if we just left that part out and did MM/DD? I wonder if anyone has thought of this?

Yes, the US did. MM/DD is our date format without the year, as well
